God Will Fight For You – Beloved Women – April 3, 2019

READ

There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! - Joshua 10: 14 NIV

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

Sometimes pressures increasingly mount against you.  Never-ending bills, sudden health scares, and relational challenges can all happen at once.  When this is the case it may seem like the entire world is working against you.

Have you ever felt like this?  If this is the case for you, we can glean encouragement in Joshua chapter 10.  The Israelites were facing an alliance of five Amorite Kings. The odds were stacked against them.  Joshua and the Israelites marched all night and took them by surprise.

It was here that the Lord fought for Israel.  God threw their opponents into confusion, hurled large hailstones down, and caused the sun and the moon to stand still at Joshua’s request.

The intensity with which we see God fighting for the Israelites is the same way He will fight on our behalf.  We may not readily recognize the numerous ways He is working on our behalf, but there are many. In difficult seasons you can know that the God of the universe will fight for you.

PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You that You are working on my behalf in ways that I can and cannot see.  Help me to trust that You fight for me at all times in every circumstance. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

REFLECT

How have you seen God fighting for you in your present circumstances?
