Ever Need a Redo?

TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE
"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."- Lamentations 3:22-23
SOMETHING TO PONDER
Ever had one of those days? The kind where you oversleep, set off a chain reaction of meltdowns, harsh words, and tempers?
I raised my voice; I wasn't patient or kind when someone needed grace. I left the kitchen a mess, and the day never improved! All that kept ringing in my ear was, "You could have done better!" I needed a redo! So much guilt and shame began to flood my mind, sitting heavy on my heart. Indeed, it was a place the enemy wanted me to stay stuck in.
It felt like I was carrying the weight of every wrong move and every undone task, like badges of failure pinned to me. I replayed the moments repeatedly, hoping to find a version of the day where I got it right. But there wasn't a single moment I felt like I got it right.
The truth of Lamentations cuts through the white noise: His mercies are new every morning. Not because I deserve a second chance, but because that's who God is. God is faithful, He's a redeemer, compassionate, and kind. This verse reminds me that I am not consumed by my bad day, and I'm not defined by failed moments. Tomorrow brings a fresh start, a new beginning! We can wake up knowing that God has given us a new day to begin again, a redo!
YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER
Thank you, Lord, that because of your great love, I am not consumed. Your compassions never fail me. Each new day that you bless me with is a gift! Help me always to see that. When I’m too hard on myself, quicken me to know you are close and redeeming. Great is your faithfulness. Give me a heart of compassion that you so beautifully extend to us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

1. Do I find myself consumed by feelings of condemnation and perfection?
2. Do I look at each day as a gift from God?
3. How can I prepare my heart for tomorrow with Lamentations 3:22-23 in mind?
