Today’s Special is: When Water Rises and Peace Recedes, What Then?

Entrée:
I’ve never really thought of myself as a peacemaker but oh how I long for peace. Peace like a slow lazy river lapping quiet hope into my life. Refreshing my soul. Renewing my strength.
How do we keep rushing water, this fast paced life, from sinking our very soul? How do we make peace and just breathe deep when the world around us can be so suffocating, so absolutely infuriating?
When coworkers and Christians can't get along and our children intentionally create waves, when loved ones grate hard on our very last nerve and we scream, “Can’t we all just get along?!”
Where is peace then my shipwrecked friend?
Peace can only be found within, when we first go to Him, because we cannot give what we do not have. So dig deep, cry loud to the One who calms storms and stills wind and wave.
Hit the 'pause' button—the 'be still and know' button—and just sit there emptying a sea of tears upon his nail pierced beautiful feet.
Back up. Rewind. Forgive. Speak truth tied with humility and anchored in love and ask others to do the same. Take time to hear and truly listen to another’s heart cry and celebrate personality differences with joy.
We can only sail through storms when the Savior’s on board.
Take Out:
When peace is elusive:
Stop. Drop and Become Whole by letting go of it all and grabbing onto hope with an honest prayer for help.
Dessert:
Holy Father be our peace. Be our one true hope. Hold us together and bind our hearts to our own. Show us how to be peace makers not peace takers. Lead us beside still waters, restore our soul. In Jesus Name, Amen.
