Listening Silence – Beloved Women – May 1, 2019
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” - John 10:27 ESV
I believe God speaks to us, but I also believe it is up to us to choose to hear Him. It is easy to get so caught up in our daily tasks that we put God into our routine and forget to be in relationship with Him. One of the biggest advantages of Christianity is that we have access to our Heavenly Father. We get to be in a relationship with Him and we get to hear from Him in all areas of our lives.
Today’s verse shows us the importance of our relationship with God. We hear Him, He knows us, and we can willingly follow His leading. God desires to give us access to the secrets of the kingdom. He desires to equip us for the world we live in and He desires to hear from us.
We have to know Him and to intentionally spend time with Him in order to recognize His voice. The more connected we are to God, the less we have to question if we’re hearing from Him or not. Let’s seek Him daily so we can hear from Him daily.
Father, I ask for forgiveness from anything that has kept me from hearing from you. Help me to never rush time in your presence and keep me connected to your leading. Father, soften my heart and open my ears to be attentive to you every day. I don’t want to miss anything that you have to tell me. Keep me in your presence so that I may stay connected to you more than anything. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
What do you need to declutter from your life to keep you connected to hearing from your Source?
