Do You Know Your God? – Beloved Women – July 9, 2019
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.” – Psalm 18: 2-3 ESV
When I think about the last 7 years on the mission field here in Uganda, I stand in awe of God and how He has sustained us. For the past three years, we have been in the process of adopting a little girl. It has been a long, emotional roller coaster. When we thought we were nearing the end, we keep having one more additional step. It’s not easy when things don’t go as planned.
As believers who know God, we can maintain a perspective of faith. When we know Him, peace will surround the unknown, the unexpected, disappointments, and heartache.
God’s Word says He is our Rock, Fortress, Deliverer, and Shield! It’s up to us to believe who God is, even in the face of difficulties and uncertainty. I encourage you to sit at the feet of Jesus and get to know him intimately.
Dear Lord Jesus, help me to take the time to feast upon your Word so that I can truly know you in an intimate way. May I make it a priority to be in the Word, so no matter the season, or circumstance, I can stand upon the truth of who you are. May I take time to know you. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
Will you take the time that is needed to know your Savior intimately?
