How to Have Faith When Prayers Are Not Answered – Beloved Women - April 16, 2024

READ

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. - Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

When it seems life is falling apart, we might throw one last ‘hail mary’ prayer request out there in hopes God will fix the situation. But what happens when healing doesn’t come, rebellious children stay the same, or we still lose our job?

It’s always a mistake to wrap our faith in God around the fulfillment of our dreams. The foundation of our faith is not built on everything going our way or happily ever after endings. As children of God, we live from a place of peace and confidence in God’s character. The Bible tells us: “If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13 NIV)

Whether or not your situation looks the way you wanted, you can still trust God has your best in mind because we serve a God who doesn’t change his commitment to love you.

PRAY

Abba Father, after all our grumblings over unanswered prayers, we are grateful You still call us Yours. When the miracle doesn’t look the way we prayed for, please help us to remember the truth about who You are: a faithful God who keeps his covenant of love. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.

REFLECT

When your prayers go unanswered, do you take matters into your own hands or hold onto faith that God is going to work it out? Does your faith need a little more staying power in the face of unanswered prayers?
