What God Wants – Beloved Women - April 15, 2019
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8 ESV
Does something feel off in your relationship with God? Are you unsure of what God wants from you? Sometimes the programs running on a computer can get their information crossed up and result in confusion on the screen. In many cases, all it takes to remedy the situation is to close all of the programs and reboot the computer. If you’re dealing with your own confusion in your relationship with God, perhaps you need a reset as well.
Often when you don’t know what to do, it’s good to go back to the basics. In Micah 6:8 this was the Lord’s suggestion to a prideful Israel that claimed they didn’t know what God wanted from them. When you are feeling stuck, start by checking yourself in these areas: acting justly, loving kindness and walking humbly with God. Perhaps God is less concerned about whether you should go left or right until you’ve stood still long enough to learn the basics.
Lord, thank You for your mercy. I’m sorry for the things that I’ve done that have strained our relationship. Please show me where I’m missing the mark. Until then, please help me to act justly, love kindness and keep my heart humble and pure before You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Are you missing the mark concerning the basics?
