“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
If there is one thing most people are lacking today, it is confidence. After all, we are in unknown territory, trying to navigate something that is unpredictable and uncertain. But let us not forget that there is complete certainty in God. He will never fail us or abandon us. We can say with confidence that He is our helper and we need not fear.
Prayer
Faithful God, thank You for never leaving us or forsaking us. No matter how isolated we may feel, we know You are there. Help us to raise our heads in confidence—not self-confidence—but in the assurance that You are all the help we need. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
He who is seated on the throne says, “I am making everything new!” What words of divine comfort for us! As we try to look above our current circumstances, let’s remember that the Lord is the Alpha and Omega. He knows the beginning from the end. And His Word is trustworthy and true.
Prayer
Lord God Almighty, You are still on Your throne. There is nothing that evades Your sovereignty. In You we put our trust. Thank You for your powerful words from Revelation 21. Thank You for making everything new. We come to You, now, and drink from the water of life—the life of Your Word. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, amen.
