A 7-Day Devotional to Find Strength and Dignity in God  - iBelieve Truth: A Devotional for Women - November 13

I have spent some time sitting with the woman described in Proverbs 31.  If I am being honest, for years, she has intimidated me. I would read about her, and I would wonder if I would ever measure up to this woman, the one who rises before dawn, runs a household, manages a business, speaks wisdom, and somehow does it all with grace. All she seemed to do was unattainable. But this verse was tough for me to understand and comprehend:

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.” Proverbs 31:25 (ESV)

I continued to read and research. What does it look like to live clothed with strength and dignity, not just on good days, but on ordinary, difficult, and uncertain ones too? That question became the beginning of a journey.

Over the next seven days, we will walk through this passage together. We will explore what true strength looks like when life feels heavy. We will learn about dignity, not the kind that comes from looking a certain way or having temporary accomplishments in this life, but the quiet confidence that God grows in a heart surrendered to Him. We will explore what it means to face the unknown with joy, trusting that He is in control and that the future is safe in His hands.

I want to invite you to pause and breathe. Each day you will find short reflections from Scripture, simple truths, a little bit of my own story, and a prayer to help anchor your heart in God’s Word. By the end of this series, I pray you will see the Proverbs 31 woman not as an impossible standard, but as an invitation to be clothed in grace, to grow in quiet strength, and to live with joy in the God who holds all things together.

So join me! Grab your Bible, your coffee, and your journal. We do not have to have it all figured out! We probably will not ever have it all figured out. We need to allow God to teach us and change our hearts! He will meet us there. And he will do the rest.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.” — Psalm 28:7 (ESV)

A Note for You:

Friend, as you begin this seven-day journey, I encourage you to take a moment to slow down. These devotions are not meant to be rushed or checked off a to-do list. They are intended to be savored, reflected on, and prayed through.

Each day, take time to.

 • Read any passages of scripture cited slowly and meditate on the words.

 • Pray as you read. What stands out? Ask God to show you what He wants you to see about Himself.

 • Reflect honestly. Write down a few thoughts or sentences about what he is teaching you.

 • Share the journey. Invite a friend, daughter, or small group to walk through these days with you. There is power in growing together in community.

You do not have to be perfect. Just come hopeful, curious, and desiring to learn. The same God who clothed the Proverbs 31 woman with strength and dignity wants to clothe you, too, day by day, moment by moment, as you rest in His faithful presence.

In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”  Isaiah 30:15 (ESV)
