Peer into God’s Amazing Creation
By Carolyn Dale Newell

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5 NKJV

There are over 85 names for God throughout Scripture. Each name represents a particular attribute of God. You may be familiar with Jehovah and Adonai, but we are looking at Elohim, which refers to God the creator.

We know that God spoke creation into existence. He created it from nothing. That is wondrous, but when we look at the details of His creation, it is truly amazing.

Just take a look around, and you will see that God loves variety. Notice the many different types of flowers, each with its own color and fragrance. They even have different seasons for blooming.

Now, consider the numerous types of birds in their many colors. They sing harmonious praises to Elohim.

Reflect on the many types of food that God has blessed us with. We have many sources of meat, fruits and vegetables, and each one has its own flavor.

Pull up a chair and sit with me on the beach. Looking out at the ocean, you see nothing of man. It is all God – sky, sea, and sand. Watch the waves rushing upon the shore with the constant changes of high and low tides. That is Elohim, our creator.

Gaze up into the night sky. The stars in their constellations and the moon in its phases are all part of God’s design. Consider the fact that God placed earth at just the right distance from the sun. Any closer and we would burn up. Any farther, and we would freeze.

Can God, Elohim, handle the trial that faces you today? Certainly, the creator of this universe can handle anything that troubles us. We have only touched the surface of what His creation entails. Yes, He can handle our trials. Yes, He can bring us through our time of hurt and distress. Enjoy His creation today, and bask in the glory of His comfort.

Make time to enjoy God’s blessed creation.  Praise Him every day for it.  Trust that He has created a divine plan for your life.

Dear God, Elohim, I praise You, and I thank You for all creation. It is a beautiful wonder. Help me to always appreciate it. Amen.
