How to be Graciously Confident – Beloved Women – September 20, 2019
“But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8 ESV)
It would seem that grace and confidence aren’t seen together often. We all know the overly confident person. Full of pride, they are willing to trample or discard anyone who doesn’t bask in their glory. Then there’s the person who’s overly gracious. They never speak up for themselves and allow others to take advantage of them. Their job is to stay the fly on the wall because it's comfortable and less dangerous.
Today, I believe the Lord wants us to find a balance between grace and confidence. Gracious confidence is the understanding that you can walk in your God-given gifts confidently while being completely aware that there is always room for growth. The key is knowing that God has gifted you with talents and abilities that are for YOU to walk out. When you carry the grace of a servant and confidence that comes from the Lord, you will stay in a place of victory!
Father, I thank You for teaching me the balance between grace and confidence. Help me to never forget that You are my source and my provider. Help me to not become stuck in pride when things go right but to remain humble through it all. You are the potter and I am the clay. Mold me, Lord, into the leader You’ve called me to be. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
Do you struggle with being gracious and confident?
