Do Your Thoughts Honor God? – Beloved Women – September 20, 2023
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8 ESV)
What if I told you I knew a sure way to tell you if your day would be good or bad? You’d want to know, right? Then you could prepare for the worst or get excited about the best. Well, this is not a hypothetical question. I can tell you which direction your day is headed with one simple question:
What’s on your mind?
Worry, comparison, insecure thoughts? Yep, those are the type of thoughts that will successfully sabotage any potentially good day. This is why the Bible specifically tells us to think about what’s good, true, pure, and praiseworthy. (Philippians 4:8)
You can’t control everything that will happen today but you do have the power to choose which thoughts you allow in your mind. So today I encourage you to focus on what’s good, what’s true, and what makes you grateful.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for all the good in my life. I pray for the strength to focus on the good and trust You with the not so good. In Jesus Christ Name, I pray. Amen.
What’s one good thing you can think about today?
