Do you ever just hear Him say "Be STILL and KNOW that I am God?"

Psalm 46:10 says: “Be STILL and KNOW that I am God”

I don’t know how many ways there is to interrupt this piece of scripture, it seems pretty clear to me!

I personally love to take a piece of scripture and see how all the different translations interrupt it, I find it fascinating!

The AMAZING part is below these versions all say the very same thing! Cease striving, BE STILL, KNOW that I AM GOD.

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

New American Standard Bible (©1995)

"Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Webster's Bible Translation

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Does God ever say this to you?

If so what about?

I looked up the word STILL on dictionary.com

This is what I found:

still

1 [stil] Show IPA

adjective, still·er, still·est.

1. remaining in place or at rest; motionless; stationary: to stand still.

2. free from or noise, as a place or persons; silent: to keep still about a matter.

3. subdued or low in sound; hushed: a still, small voice.

4. free from turbulence or commotion; peaceful; tranquil; calm: the still air.

I often let my mind wonder into the future without me or Jesus for that matter! I often grab my handy dandy calendar and start mapping out my week, month or even year. And then the times when I find myself thinking through how THIS decision will affect that dream and what if this and that and this and that. I mean STOP Lindsay!  Cease Striving it says in the New American Standard. Cease Striving!

My heart hurts, because we miss the wonder of God when we go about our busy little selves we forget, HE IS GOD. He created the Universe, the entire Universe and He ADORES YOU! The kind of adoration that will make you blush if you just SIT your butt DOWN and listen to what He has to say.

Ask Him what He thinks of you!

Why can’t we just sit down for 5 minutes close our eyes and imagine Jesus right there, because He is, why can’t we just gaze into His eyes, see AND RECEIVE His LOVE?

I don’t know a lot about trust to be honest, but the more you get to KNOW someone the more you are going to trust them, I assume!

Therefore the more you get to know Jesus, the more you will trust Him and then you can stop striving, you can BE STILL and KNOW with confidence that He is God and no matter what comes our way, He is there with us.

Comforting that the creator of the Universe, is standing right beside you. Don’t let the wonder and ‘amazingness’ of THAT go away even just for a second!
