This Mother's Day

How would you like to spend it? Because it’s just around the corner! Soooo…would you like to spend this Mother’s Day having fun or relaxing? Reminiscing and reflecting back? Or spending time with your family or alone? Think about it. Wherever or however, if you’re a mother, it’s your day! So plan it well and with joy no matter what.

Personally, I love spending time with my kiddos on Mother's Day. Every now and then I like to go somewhere alone (just to get a little “me” time). But most years, I really do enjoy spending the day with them - eating, laughing, playing, and then coming down with a good movie snuggled up on the sofa. But…we can’t forget the dessert!

My daughter loves baking cookies. And we love eating them! She’s such a joy. On top of that, I know that her Number 1 love language is “quality time.” So this is a great way to show my love to her…in the kitchen and then retreating to the living room for a good film (or playing a board game). ;-)

Spending quality time with our kids will make a world of a difference now and later. It’s creating memories. It’s cherishing the moment. It’s love.

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Let all that you do be done in love.” And guess what? When we do this, the Bible reassures us that, “Her children arise up, and call her blessed.” (Proverbs 31:28) No matter how old they are or become, when a mother loves and nurtures her kids well, they will rise up and call her blessed! Amen!

Be encouraged this Mother’s Day, my sister! It’s your day! Enjoy it and please take a moment to pray for those who have lost their moms, weren’t able to have kids, lost a child, or didn’t grow up with a mom. We are sisters. So let’s lift one another up. Prayers are amazingly powerful and can stretch far and wide.

With that being said, no matter who you are or where you are today, you were born of a mother. And if you are a mother, you play such an important role in your kids’ lives, sis. Our job and privilege is to love, nurture, train, and equip them to be a blessing to others around them. We also have the job of driving them around to all of their athletic practices, youth class, birthday parties, and so much more!

Oh my goodness…and let's not talk about helping with the school projects. Summer's coming mamas! Hold on...LOL! But no doubt, our list is long (*but we can do it by God’s grace and strength).

Another thing to mention is that we also have the awesome responsibility of raising them up to multiply the Kingdom of Heaven. That’s right! They were born on purpose and for a purpose. As mothers, we play the vital part in helping them achieve it. So let’s do our part sis. We’re needed in so many ways.

So again, your day to celebrate is coming up! What are you planning on doing? On another note, what are you planning on doing to celebrate your mom this upcoming Sunday? Get those ideas spinning! If you’re running low on creative ideas, I’ve provided a list to help here… http://www.mothersdaycentral.com/mothers-day-activities/. Whatever you decide to do, make a conscious effort to enjoy this Mother's Day! ;-)

Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out!
