Keep Pressing In His Strength
- 2014 Sep 08
I want to start this post by saying, “Keep pressing.” Meaning, stay faithful and persevere in the midst of fatigue, hurt, or whatever it is that could make you discouraged. Sometimes in this walk, we grow weary and get tired, but I want to encourage you today with God’s word, “So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.” (Galations 6:9 - NLT) If you don’t give up the fight, you will see what God has in store for you. But you have to keep pressing.
This means pressing towards the mark of the high calling. And it means, don’t ever stop believing that God has a unique purpose and plan for your life. In the meantime, you have to remain faithful to Him, others, and the current tasks that He has laid out for you, while you endure through His strength.
When you find yourself getting weak in your Christian walk, read this Scripture or even memorize it, “So take a new grip with your tired hands and stand firm on your shaky legs. Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong.” (Hebrews 12:12-13 - NLT)
You have to be strong for others. When you are weak, encourage yourself with the Word of God. There is so much power in that book! And call on the Lord to give you strength to keep pressing. Now don’t get me wrong, sometimes you just have to lay down and take a nap to get refreshed. Trust me. That happens. But my point here, is that you recognize where you are, and get that second wind. The key is not to give up, no matter what.
It’s about keeping the faith at all cost, because others are counting on you to make it. Do you realize that you may be the only Jesus that some people may ever see? As you draw closer to God, while allowing Him to continue cleansing your heart, and remain faithful to what He and who has called you to, He can use you as a mighty vessel for His glory to help win others to Jesus Christ. Second Timothy 2:21 says, “If you keep yourself pure, you will be a utensil God can use for his purpose. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.” (NLT)
So stay faithful in every way. Stay faithful to God, knowing that He will remain faithful to you. Stay faithful to your husband and children (if you have them). Stay faithful to your responsibilities at home. Stay faithful to your relationships. Stay faithful to your commitments. Stay faithful for others. Titus 2:4-5 says, “These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to take care of their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.” (NLT) Surely, you’re older than someone. So don’t bring shame on the word of God. Be that light that shines bright in the world around you and make a dramatic difference for the Kingdom.
This is why you can’t stop. You can’t quit. You can’t stop serving. You can’t stop being committed. You can’t throw in the towel. You have to persevere. Others need you. And God is faithful to see you through until the end. Remember, He’ll give you the strength to keep pressing. Isaiah 40:29 & 31 says, “He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak…But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (NLT) Be strong in Him, sis. You can make it through Christ.
Remember that Jesus is coming soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out.
