Tired

Sometimes, life feels hard, and some weeks are harder than others. Last week was one of those for me. I felt emotionally and mentally tired; I didn’t want to get back up on the horse and try again. I wanted to stay off the horse because being on the ground felt a lot easier and a lot safer. Sure, it’s not as much fun, but sometimes you don’t feel like you have the strength to try anymore.

I was reminded of how fragile and how weak I truly am.

I was reminded of how much I need God’s grace.

I try to do right every day but most days if I’m honest, I feel like I fail Him in some way. Whether it’s by being anxious, trying to seek control, thinking things I shouldn’t or simply failing to let go of everything and give it all to Him, I sometimes think He must be so disappointed in me.

“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” –Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

I believe sometimes we are brought to weakness to be reminded of how small we are and how big He is. When we feel like we can’t go on, He will be our strength if we just call out to Him. He will be there even if it feels like no one else is. God understands our frailties. He knows we’re going to fail, He knows we’re going to become frustrated, He knows we’re going to struggle, and He knows we’re going to get tired.

He just wants us to come to Him. In His grace, He will give us strength so we can run and not grow weary.
