An Exciting New Endeavor (And a Gift for You!)

Originally published Wednesday, 05 November 2014.

I’m a pathetic artist. Words are my chosen medium, but keep the pencils and paint brushes away from me. My stick figures make preschoolers laugh. (Really. My four- and six-year-old nieces draw better than me.)

But God has blessed me with an artist for a husband. A computer-programming, guitar-strumming, paintbrush-wielding man. Flaviu has always been my biggest supporter in my writing, including launching One Thing Alone a year ago, and he has recently become much more involved in running the blog. (Don’t you just love the new logo?)

As we have been praying and talking about the future direction of this blog, we both felt strongly the desire to add another dimension to the ministry. The mission of One Thing Alone is to help overwhelmed women find joy in Jesus, and we do that through written encouragement, video devotionals, and now… Scripture art.

Flaviu and I will be working together to bring you Scripture in artistic form. We hope and pray these art prints will encourage you to find joy in Jesus and will fill your home with God’s Truth.

A Gift for You

Today’s Scripture is our theme for this series, and a verse that has been my lifeline for the past few months:

You make known to me the path of life;
    in your presence there is fullness of joy;
    at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
~Psalm 16:11

Isn’t it beautiful? Flaviu designed it in several different colors, and I can easily see this going in any room in our house. (I’ll have to snap a picture this week and share it here once we get it up. This is hot off the presses, y’all.)

I love how simple and clean it is, but it also speaks directly to my soul. (And the watermark doesn’t actually appear on the downloadable print; it’s just there for copyright.)

These downloadable prints are available in our brand-new etsy shop, but we’re giving away a FREE simple JOY downloadable printable this week only to One Thing Alone readers because you ladies rock! And I love you dearly. And I couldn’t do this series without you.

Simply click on the image above to download (or click here), frame it, hang it on a wall or post it next to your bed. The free giveaway has now ended.

If you’d like to purchase one of the color printables above, we’re offering 50% off to One Thing Alone readers this week. Just click here to be taken to the shop and enter code JOY2014.

The offer is valid this week only, so hurry and download yours before Saturday, October 11, 2014 11:59 EST.

Day 5 Challenge: Download the Joy printable and hang it up in your house to remind you to seek Jesus every day. Or, if you prefer, write a Scripture of your own choosing and display it in your house this week. Remember: it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.

Thank You, Father, for Your gift of joy today. In Your presence there are so many incomparable riches that You bless us with, in order to pour into others. Please fill me today with Your joy. May my songs of praise glorify You and magnify You, in my own eyes first and foremost, and then before all the nations. You are worth, oh Lord. You are worthy.

This is the 5th post in the series, “Abiding in Christ–when reading the Bible isn’t an option.” Check out all the posts here.
