We often imagine peace looking like a perfectly quiet house.

No laundry.

No dishes.

No rushed mornings.

No sibling arguments.

No difficult conversations.

No overflowing calendar.

But most homes don't look like that.

Home can be beautiful and exhausting at the same time.

Children need attention.

Meals need to be prepared.

Bills need to be paid.

Relationships require patience.

Unexpected problems interrupt carefully made plans.

Sometimes the emotional noise feels even louder than the physical noise.

Perhaps tension has settled into your family.

Maybe someone you love is hurting.

Maybe everyone is simply tired.

You may find yourself longing for peace while wondering if it will ever return.

Jesus doesn't promise that every home will always feel calm.

He promises something greater.

He promises His presence and His peace in the middle of life's ordinary messiness.

Scripture

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

— John 14:27
