Updated Aug 04, 2026

Author Jim Collins, known for his New York Times Best Seller Good to Great, is known to many as the leadership guru to many leaders of influence. In his new book, What to Make of a Life, Jim wants to help his audience understand that in this life that we live, we will all go through cliffs, fog, and fire. In a sit-down interview with Crosswalk/Salem Media, Collins makes the case of the thirty-four influential leaders that he researched over the last ten years, that we will all go through highs and lows, but it’s what we do with the life that we’ve been given that matters. Collins spent ten years researching and writing What to Make of a Life and feels like that, although he’s written a lot of great books, that this one is the one that he’s spent the most time with, along with being the one that stirred and moved him the most. Collins wants every reader to walk away with a deep understanding of what it takes to make a life.
