Finding Joy in the Cold | Your Nightly Prayer

God, In these cold, dark days, I admit I’m tempted to rush past this season and wish it away. I want warmth, light, and new life. But tonight, I ask You to teach me to rejoice in You—not only when life feels bright and easy, but even when it feels quiet, bleak, or heavy. Lord, train my heart for contentment. Help me remember that joy isn’t something I manufacture through better circumstances; it’s something I receive as I look to You. When I’m tired, discouraged, or impatient, be my strength. Open my eyes to see Your goodness in the middle of winter. Let the beauty in this season remind me that You are kind, steady, and faithful—and that in Christ You have covered my sin and given me Your righteousness. As I rest tonight, help me rejoice in You again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
