Ending July with Surrender | Your Nightly Prayer

The end of a month can stir more emotion than we expect.

A calendar page turns, but the experiences attached to it do not always disappear so easily.

Perhaps July held moments of joy you want to remember. Maybe it brought disappointment, conflict, grief, or changes you did not choose. You may have started the month with goals that remain unfinished or prayers that still seem unanswered.

It is tempting to enter a new season carrying everything from the old one.

We carry regret over what we should have done differently.

We carry frustration over what did not happen.

We carry anxiety about what the next month may bring.

But God invites us to pause before moving forward.

Surrender allows us to acknowledge what happened without allowing it to control what comes next. It gives us permission to grieve what was hard, celebrate what was good, and entrust everything unresolved to the One who remains faithful.

Tonight, July does not need to end perfectly.

It only needs to end in God’s hands.
