A Prayer When You Need Motivation | Your Daily Prayer

cultivatechristianity.wordpress.comSometimes the hardest part isn't finishing.
It's starting.
The dishes need washing.
The email needs answering.
The assignment needs finishing.
You need to shower.
Make something to eat.
Return the phone call.
Go for the walk.
Open the Bible.
You know what needs to happen.
But something inside you responds:
I can't.
When motivation disappears, ordinary responsibilities can suddenly feel enormous.
And then another voice often appears:
Why can't you just get yourself together?
But struggling with motivation can have many causes.
Exhaustion can drain it.
Stress can drain it.
Overwhelm can drain it.
Grief and emotional struggles can affect it.
Physical health can affect it.
And sometimes, staring at everything we need to accomplish makes beginning anything feel impossible.
Maybe today you don't need to conquer the entire mountain.
Maybe you need to take one step.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:19
