A Prayer to Be Still | Your Daily Prayer

Stillness can feel unfamiliar.

We live surrounded by noise.

Notifications.

Schedules.

Responsibilities.

Opinions.

Concerns about what happened yesterday and what might happen tomorrow.

Even when our bodies stop moving, our minds often continue racing.

We replay conversations, organize unfinished tasks, imagine worst-case scenarios, and search for answers we do not yet have.

In Psalm 46, God’s invitation to “be still” is not merely a suggestion to relax.

It is a call to stop striving and recognize His authority.

The phrase reminds us that God remains sovereign even when the world feels unstable. We do not have to solve every problem before entering His presence. We do not need complete understanding before we can trust Him.

Stillness is an act of surrender.

It says, “God, You are in control, and I am not.”

It releases our grip on outcomes and creates space to remember what hurry often makes us forget:

God is present.

God is faithful.

God is enough.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

— Psalm 46:10
