A Prayer for the Weary-Hearted and Hurting | Your Daily Prayer

Some weariness goes deeper than physical exhaustion.

It is the heaviness that comes from grief.

The ache of disappointment.

The loneliness of feeling unseen.

The strain of carrying responsibilities while quietly wondering how much more your heart can take.

When we are hurting, we may feel pressure to stay strong, keep smiling, and reassure everyone that we are fine. But God never asks us to pretend in His presence.

He already knows where it hurts.

He sees the tears that never fall in front of anyone else.

He understands the prayers that come out as nothing more than a sigh.

And He does not stand at a distance from our pain.

Scripture tells us that He is close to the brokenhearted. He meets us in the very places we would rather escape and reminds us that our pain has not made us invisible to Him.

You may not feel strong today.

You do not have to.

God’s strength is not reserved for the people who have everything together. It is offered freely to those who know they need Him.

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

— Psalm 34:18
