One Voice Children's Choir Sings 'Mary Did You Know'

One Voice Children’s Choir reminds us of the real reason for the season with this anointed cover of ‘Mary Did You Know.’

This classic Christmas song was conceived by singer-songwriter Mark Lowry. The idea for the song came to Mark when he was writing a Christmas program for Jerry Falwell in 1984. He started thinking about what he would ask Mary if she was sitting right in front of him and how she must have felt. He put together the questions that eventually became the lyrics we know and love today.

‘Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God’

In 1991, once the lyrics were complete, Mark asked his friend Buddy Greene to music to accompany his words. It only took 30 minutes for Buddy to compose the iconic music for ‘Mary, Did You Know?’

After it’s recording, the song went on to become a modern Christmas favorite and has been covered by countless artists over the years.

Today, the incredible voices of the One Voice Children’s Choir are putting their own spin on this modern day classic. As you listen to their angelic voices come together and belt out these words, you will truly be reminded that Christmas is about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Luke 2:8-9 “And there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them.”
