20 Quotes on Why You Can Trust God

Learning to trust God is one of the greatest challenges of your Christian walk. These Bible verses and Christian quotes will serve as both a reminder and an encouragement on why you can trust God.

Learning to trust God is one of the greatest challenges of your Christian walk. Whether you realize it or not, everything we do in our walk is centered around trust. It begins with our salvation and follows as we walk daily with Jesus. Many fail to recognize that trusting God is a daily thing. For this reason, it is very easy to think you must have trust for the whole journey of your life, when all you need is trust for each day’s journey. God simply wants you to trust him today, then the next day, and so on. As you do, you will discover that you have developed a lifetime of trust over time. But it begins with trusting him today. To help you in this I want to remind you of why you can trust God. While it is true life can sometimes be overwhelming you can be confident knowing you have a God who is more than able to walk with you and keep you through life’s most difficult challenges. I pray these verses and quotes will serve as both a reminder and an encouragement on why you can trust God. Let faith, hope, confidence, and strength arise in your hearts as you remember we serve a God who can be trusted.

10 Bible Quotes on Why You Can Trust God

1. “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Psalm 56:3-4)

2. “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.” (Psalm 40:4)

3. “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” (Psalm 118:9)

4. “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.” (Psalm 27:1-3)

5. “But now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior...’” (Isaiah 43:1-3a)

6. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

7. “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:31-34)

8. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:1-3)

9. “…For He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” (Hebrews 13:5 AMP)

10. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:27-30)

10 Christian Quotes on Why You Can Trust God

1. “Trust perfected is prayer perfected. Trust looks to receive the thing asked for and gets it. Trust is not a belief that God can bless or that He will bless, but that He does bless, here and now. Trust always operates in the present tense. Hope looks toward the future. Trust looks to the present. Hope expects. Trust possesses. Trust receives what prayer acquires. So, what prayer needs, at all times, is abiding and abundant trust.”―E.M. Bounds

2. “The beautiful thing about this adventure called faith is that we can count on Him never to lead us astray.”―Chuck Swindoll

3. “Faith isn’t the ability to believe long and far into the misty future. It’s simply taking God at His Word and taking the next step.”―Joni Eareckson Tada

4. “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”―Martin Luther King, Jr

5. “Worry is blind and cannot discern the future, but Jesus sees the end from the beginning. In every difficulty, He has His way prepared to bring relief.”―Ellen G. White

6. “God knows best. We can trust Him with our lives as well as our eternal souls. He does not take something from us without filling that spot with something just as good―and because it’s from Him, even much better.”―Janette Oke

7. “God may allow us at times to hit rock bottom, to show us He’s the rock-at the bottom.”―Kirk Franklin

8. “Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. It is the belief that God will do what is right.”―Max Lucado

9. “I have found so much freedom in living a life of simple trust in Jesus and letting go of all my efforts to be the ‘ideal Christian.” When I finally got to the end of myself, it was there that I discovered for the first time how much my heavenly Father really cared for me. I saw that all the accomplishments I’d made on my own journey were not because of my hard work, but because of God’s grace.”―Ryan Stevenson

10. “Faith is always tested at the intersection of “Why?” and “Trust Me!” We come to God with those situations and problems that make us ask Him “Why?” He answers with a simple “Trust Me!” You cannot trust God in those things which you choose and not trust Him in others. You either trust Him with it all or with nothing at all. Your choice will either provide you with a powerful faith to carry you through the ups and downs of life or a faith that struggles with the slightest circumstance.”―Ron Lambros
