God's Voice - Warrior Mom Wisdom - Week of September 5

Warrior Mom Wisdom Devotional

God’s Voice

In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month on the fifth day, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God…

Under the expansion of their wings were stretched out one toward the other, and each had two wings covering its body. When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army.

Ezekiel 1:1, 1:22-24

I was running yesterday and it began to rain. Towards the end of my run, I sprinted as I am trying to increase my speed. I was told that if I do sprints, my over-all mile time will improve. I walk, sprint, walk, sprint, and I run, and I then I sprint the last .2 distance of the mile. What I found exciting is that when I started to sprint, I could really hear the sound of the wind at my ears.

The sound of the wind, combined with the fact that I was soaking wet from the rain, reminded me of the above verse. I thought about how God’s voice is like the sound of rushing water. As I sprinted, I asked God to speak to my spirit in a way that is deeper than words. I asked Him to imprint upon my heart a passion and perseverance that cannot be shaken by wind, rain, or drought.

I was reminded of how His voice is not limited to man’s view of a voice, and that He speaks in ways that can make my spirit soar. When I got done, I felt like I had just “flown,” and I knew that the presence of His wings had surrounded me.
