A Prayer for Boldness to Stand for Biblical Values

Bible Reading:
"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:58

Doubt, deconstruction, trauma, alienation, confusion, sin, distraction, and pleasure…these are the standard tools that the enemy of our souls uses to pull us away from the firm foundation of our faith. We must be vigilant about cultivating deep roots in our spiritual life so that we can stand firm and boldly share with others the things that are most important to us. One key to bold faith is a strong sense of identity in Christ. How can we confidently approach others with the truth if we don't know who we are? How do we gain this secure identity? Through spending time in the Word, learning God’s truth, worshiping with other saints, and quieting your heart in prayer. These are how God meets us and reveals more of who he is.

Colossians 2:7 says, “Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

We want to be people rooted in Jesus, with an unmovable faith. As we deepen our connection and understanding of who God is, we become better equipped to share those beliefs and navigate the challenges life brings. As God’s Word permeates our hearts, it becomes more easily accessible when we need to draw on and share its truths. As our hearts are practiced in praise and gratitude, sharing this sentiment with those around us feels natural. When life becomes tough, our rhythms of rest and prayer become our go-to when we need relief. Our faith grows stronger each day because we are intentional about knowing God with our hearts and making Him known in everything we do.

Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We can stand firm in the face of criticism, doubt, and more because we are never alone. Be bold and courageous because God is with you wherever you go! You never have to stand firm by your strength; you can always depend on God to provide the grace you need to cling to God’s truth.

Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

We must share our knowledge of God’s way as we grow. Go and make disciples, share God’s truth and good news with others. It’s a part of our Christian duty to share God’s love with others. We want to invite the lost into his family, showing them the way to eternal life with Jesus. It’s our privilege to boldly share God’s good plan with those closest to us, those we bump into daily, and those worldwide. This news is too good to keep to ourselves!

Let’s Pray:

Father, firmly establish me in my faith. Reveal to my heart who I am in you and offer me the grace to learn your way. Quiet the things that are working to distract me from following your way. Grow in me deep roots that will keep me grounded when doubt and trials enter my life. Grant me boldness when I feel led to share my faith. Write your words on my heart and mind so they can guide me when I am unsure. Help me to make disciples both in my home, in my community, and around the world. Sharing God’s good news every chance I get. Amen.
