Do you ever wonder why things keep going wrong?
It has been like that with my health, and praise God, it was nothing serious. As soon as one thing was settled, something else started. Finally, I asked God why this was happening. If there was something wrong in my life, some sin, I wanted to know.
Two hours later, I received a text from a friend. He obviously knew about my health issues, but he did not know about my prayer. The text read,
The enemy wants to attack your study on prayer and your ministry.
That was it! I never thought of that. Here I was immersed in a study on prayer, and I had never prayed for God to protect my writing and myself from Satan.
I had prayed for God to use my work for His glory and to encourage others. I had prayed for open doors, but I never prayed for God to set a hedge around me.
As I read through the believer’s armor in Ephesians chapter 6, I could not find anything missing. I trusted God, the shield of faith. I studied my Bible, the sword of the Spirit. The one thing missing was the one that ties it all together – prayer. I was studying prayer, but I was not praying to be delivered from evil.
Whatever your ministry, always be on guard for the enemy’s attack. Stand firm against the wiles of the devil.
The more useful we are to God, the more we will be attacked by the enemy.

All believers need to be alert because Satan will attack.
You begin to pray, and he interrupts. You want to spend time in your Bible, and he will make your schedule too busy. You start serving God and you have put a target on your back.
Remember,
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Precious Heavenly Father,
You are so mighty to protect us from the schemes of the devil. Let us never take that for granted. Continue to surround Your children with a hedge, and guard the ministries which strive to lift up Your name and help others. In the blessed name of Jesus, amen.
