Hearing from God Through His Word – Beloved Women – September 4, 2019
“Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.” (Psalm 119:18 ESV)
Do you find it difficult to read the Bible on your own? Do you feel that you have a hard time understanding? Praying before you open the Word can make all the difference. Proverbs 4:7 says “wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding” (NKJV). God wants you to get every wonderful bit of what He’s saying to you and He’s willing to help you. Sometimes you will find that God even shows you something new in an old familiar passage.
One of the most fascinating things that I’ve found about the Bible is, the more of it that I understand, the more I want to know. God’s studied Word has a way of just drawing you in and it leaves you wanting more. And it is no wonder, God in His magnificent tri-unity is revealed in its pages.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Bible. It says that I’m a stranger here on Earth but You have not left me without instructions. God, please let me see what You are showing me today in its pages. Please don’t let me miss the understanding that leads to wisdom from You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Is there a passage in the Bible that you have been trying to grasp the meaning of? Is there a Scripture that you need to revisit with prayer?
