Are you Spiritually Focused? – Beloved Women – July 21, 2020

READ: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 ESV)

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Have you ever gotten so focused on something that you see nothing else around you? Has that focus gotten you great results? If you did, you were probably like Peter. Peter saw Jesus walking on the water and wanted to come to Him. However, to do that, he had to focus on Jesus only and His word “come.”

However, as the story continues, Peter walked on the water. Then, Peter took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the storm around him. He forgot Jesus’ command and he began to sink. This, my friend, will happen to us. When we get our eyes off Jesus and on our problems, crisis, stress, pain, rejection, loneliness etc. we will sink in that very problem.

The verse today says to look to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith. Rest assured in this; no matter what you are going through, you will go to the other side. You will not drown. The promise in your life is not dead. You will not be lost. Jesus will finish what He started in you. 

Stay focused on the word He gives to you and you shall walk on the impossible too. 

PRAY: Lord, help me today to stay focused on Your promises and word to me. Help me to honor Your word in my heart and know that what You started you will complete in my life. Help me to not look at the storm, winds, or waves that come. Let me not be afraid to step out into Your promise for my life. In Jesus Christ name, I pray, Amen.
