Walk by the Spirit – Beloved Women – July 14, 2022
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” - Galatians 5:16 ESV
Jesus declared that He would go home to be with his Father, but that we would receive an advocate that would be in the inside of us. The advocate is the Holy Spirit. What this means, is that although Jesus is not walking on earth, He left behind his spirit to help us. The same Holy Spirit power that raised Him from the dead, lives on the inside of me and you today.
Isn’t that beautiful and comforting to know that He didn’t leave us to figure out things on our own? I love the verse above because it is a reminder of His Spirit. It is a sweet remembrance that I am to lean on His Spirit every day - for every decision, for wisdom and guidance. I am called to walk by the Spirit, so that when people see me, they are seeing a representative of Jesus.
Friends, you are called to this too. The Bible says that we are Christ’s ambassadors. So as you go to work today, run errands, and interact with your friends and family, remember that you are not just representing yourself, but you are a beautiful representative of Christ.
Dear Father, I thank you for the reminder that my life is not my own. Thank you for showing me that I am to represent you in everything that I do. Help me to look more like you and to love your people the way that you love. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
How will you choose to let Christ lead you today?
