The Cure for Spiritual Amnesia - Beloved Women - January 15, 2024

READ: “For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything He does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth.” (Psalms 33:4-5 NLT)

TODAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT: Whatever makes us vulnerable makes us fragile. It’s natural to want to self-protect. It’s a by-product of the human experience. But if I hold back from God, it’s a case of spiritual amnesia. I know He's Faithful and True. I've seen His wisdom at work. Yet, selfish inclinations and shortsighted conclusions clamor to erase my trust. What would happen if we released everything to the God who can do anything?

Thankfully, prayers of faith pry my fingers from what’s best left in His hands -- where every possible scenario is ready for divine dictation. Then I remember the best thing about trusting God is God. His peace consumes anxious thoughts. His promises are true with or without my Amen. He gives every good and perfect gift -- even when the gift seems delayed or looks different than what I had in mind. Because vulnerability is not just about being fragile, it can lead to an encounter with the Almighty God.

PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for knowing where I’m vulnerable and holding me closer than my next breath. You are my Refuge and my Strength. May I treasure your words knowing that you treasure my trust. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

REFLECT: When you consider a vulnerable area of your life, who or what do you trust? How does trusting God ease your tension? What helps you to trust Him more? Let’s chat more in the comments.
