Count it All Joy – Beloved Women - February 20, 2019
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing- James 1:1-4 ESV
How do you view your trials? If I am honest, when trials come knocking at my door my first response is not to count it all joy. It is often to ask why? I am learning to look at my trials differently and say “God I will trust You in this.” I want to have all that God has for me and be all that He created me to be. And honestly, I don’t want to go through similar trials because I failed to learn what He tried to teach me last year.
What helps me is to stop focusing on the trial and what I am lacking and to keep my eyes in the Word and prayed up to remind myself that God is with me regardless of how I feel.
I want to encourage you to come on this journey with me and commit to trusting God through those trials and learning to count it all joy so that we will build the character God wants to see in us and so that we will lack nothing.
Father, thank You that You are always with me. Please help me to remember that You are always working for my good even in the midst of a storm. I ask that You change my perspective during the trials I face and keep my eyes peeled to You so that I will lack nothing while I am on this earth. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
Are you viewing your trials from a place of lack or an opportunity to gain?
