Hi. Without going in to specifics, and if we use the verse, the proving/testing of your faith produces patience, do you get short with yourself and others when the quality of work does not measure up to what's wanted and expected? Usually these occurrences are short-term in duration, and often come away realizing I need the Savior every minute.. How about you?

Oh, yeah. I can relate. And now it is 'me' that I'm having to adjust to! I have always been a perfectionistic type. A job is to be done well. And I usually could do it both well and fast. But now that I'm having health problems which affects my ability to 'do', I'm slowly learning about grace. I have to ask others for help. I have to accept help from others. I have to adjust to things not being done what I consider to be 'right' or 'well'. And sometimes it is ME that is doing it and it makes me crazy.

But God is teaching me and growing me. And I know that this is all a part of His goodness to me and I am going to be the better for it.

The challenge is can I live in His love EVEN when I'm not performing as well as I want to be??? Grace.

And then can I offer that same grace to others.

Yup, He's teaching me. I know the struggle.

In learning to walk in the spirit of Truth, I have learned that whenever I do loose my patience with the quality of work done, it's time to examine me. I'm the one with a problem. Others are growing and learning and even if they know what is right, we should be gracious as Liveloved said.

Grace is very important in getting a work accomplished. Let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Notice in James ch. one the focus is on changing the impatient person, not anyone else.

Now I know why the good book says to count it all joy when you fall into various trials, because he will try our patience which is how we learn patience! Next time I get impatient, I will try to see it as a training session and be glad for it. :P

Deb and liveloved, your words appreciated, and intellectually agree with all you say. I work in a industry (general editing) that will allow sloppiness from whom the work is being edited, but at the same time almost "demand" the editor to be above all that and wind up with a near-perfect product. So while one can be "in a training session" for patience, I guess the prayer exemplified by our savor is quite appropriate, Father, forgive them they know not what they do." Hmm, you gave me something to think about here.. Patiently I close and go back to my work.. :) Drussell
