And btw, I love the fact that the op is not at the top of every page! Thanks for that!

Funny, this is one thing I hate! I tend to forget it, then I have to back to the first page to see it.

Don't forget, folks, that every customization to the software package will make it that much harder to update the software. One of the reasons we went to new software was so that an army of techies wouldn't have to be employed to keep the thing up and running. If they customized it so that everyone gets everything they want, they'd have to pay an arm and a leg every time the software needed to be updated.

There are features from the old software that I miss, too. And there are some inconveniences I've found in this forum package. But I'm learning to work around those and keep a stiff upper lip.

I know that's not what y'all wanted to hear, but I thought I would throw it in as my two cents.

And there was me thinking that only the Brits did the 'stiff upper lip' thing!

Does anyone know whether the blue background ever be changed? (Like the old CW background was.)

Sorry if this is a repeat question.

April, if you log in through Christianity.com (http://fcnforums.christianity.com/)
it has a white background instead of the blue. It looks different, but the forums are the same.

YES! Exactly!

"Bookmark the Subscribed Threads page taht "My Forums" takes you to."

I did that, when it was recommended previously. But then I still have to go back to the bookmark, over and over, each time I'm done with a thread, rather than have one nice place to click to get to the next one in line.

I'm not going to cry, "I want my CW back!"

I just want the ease (and far less time consuming) of navigation CW had.

If you're using Internet Explorer...

Open the Subscription bookmark and then click on the links while holding down the shift key.
This will open the page in a new window.

Read the thread and then close the page.

Repeat for the next link in your subscriptions.

That's what I do for my 75 (and growing) subscriptions.

Why?

All that did was give me the option to save...well, whatever, to my computer.

I also don't quite understand the sizing thing. I get it down to as big as it will accept, 100x100, right? And it's so much smaller than other avatars...

I right click on the lil green arrow in My Forums (which could also be done in Subscriptions) and chose the 'open in a new window', then deal with that thread and close the window... and the Forums/Subscriptions page is still there for you to go from...

When I've got rid of all my lil green arrows I hit refresh and see if there are any new msgs... In reality it's probably better than doing 'New Msg' all the time... because that would take you down in order of threads, not the latest msg first... I used to get really fed up of keeping on going back to a busy thread when there were others I hadn't got too...

Can't help with the avatar... sorry...

I would like links to be more obvious. With the blue background the blue color link just disappears. They also aren't underlined which would help.

Yes, links need to be underlined! It's standard practice for websites.

Is there a way where my messages are not marked as read when I visit the site but do not read all of my messages at all just like the old cw had? I have found that if I visit the site and do not read everything that everything gets cleared out when I come back again.

I do like the email subscription feature though as when I open up the email, it brings me directly to the last place where I left off which is good. If only it could be that way with forums directly as well?

I just discovered something that I really like.

I clicked on the "Forums". The first thing I see is Forum Announcements but I never really understood what the "Closed All Categories" did...

Then I clicked on it and it shows: "Open All Categories".
I LOVE THAT SCREEN!.

Can anyone tell me how I can make screen ALWAYS Be Open?

Just wishing.

I have the same 'view' (flat style). I'm been playing around with it but it still won't 'stick' . (Sure don't like the other two 'view' options.)

Thanks anyway!

Okay, I FINALLY found the Wish list!!! Anywho, I was directed here, so I'll post what I originally wrote:

I really don't want to participate in the scoring system any longer...aka. I doN'T want to score and/or be scored...I've read what is considered "proper usage" of it and although I'm confused..., I don't agree with judging and/or being judged by fellow posters, so I was wondering if there is an opting out feature that I can use???? If not could you impliment one????

God Bless,
Fleeingme80

I'd like to see the ranking system changed back to "OR" instead of "AND", A person's rank should be based on how involved they are in the community, not how popular they are.

I'd like the "change last visit time" to be on My Forums page so I don't have to go to Posts since Last Visit to change that.

Thanks.

I wouldn't mind PNG file support for avatars.

I think this is being said all over. This ranking system just isn't intuitive and it's unworkable. And, since it's a hot topic all over the board, it's very difficult to just ignore it.
