agapetos -> RE: Wish list (7/26/2008 12:17:23 PM)

Something that I've found hard to do about one-stop threads is that there is often a wealth of useful links to other sites in them ~ but it's not always easy to search through and find it.

Right now there are some posts in the mental health thread about something and I've just posted a few links. But I know there are other links that have been posted in that (and other threads) that will get lost unless you can always remember about them.

Is there any way that there can be a 'locked' one-stop thread where a moderator can post links, with a brief description of what they are? Not just for the mental health thread, but also other one-stop threads that are 'help' threads.

Edited to add: Or to have a 'links' post at the start of the thread that mods can add to when a site is posted.

Hmmm... not sure that makes any sense[&:]

Kath -> RE: Wish list (7/26/2008 11:25:17 PM)

You mean like to edit Fritz's OP in the One Stop to add links of interest? The only problem I can see with that is it could look like he is endorsing those links.

agapetos -> RE: Wish list (7/27/2008 6:17:18 PM)

I did mean that, and I didn't think of that point.

could there be a place kind of like what you set up in the WO folder with informative links? Maybe just tacked to the top of the health and fitness folder? I know it wouldn't necessarily be in the thread it is related to, but it seems to work well over in the WO folder the way you have it set up Kath.

Kath -> RE: Wish list (7/27/2008 9:56:52 PM)

I'm not sure Sarah, but thank you for the suggestion. We'll have to wait and see what Fritz says.

I'm not sure that Forums is the best solution for that.

However, you might try adding a thread in the directory for the various sites you've found helpful and direct people to the folder where you are posting the sites.

Ok, I'm not wearing my glasses so I can't see that brilliantly and we've got a thunderstorm outside so I have a headache and can't think (when can I ever?) so....

what directory?[&:]

Fritzpw_Admin -> RE: Wish list (7/28/2008 12:33:01 PM)

For those links I'd recommend this one:

I didn't even think of the directory!

Fritz has his uses[:D]

Kath -> RE: Wish list (7/28/2008 1:18:12 PM)

[sm=sly.gif] Yes he does!

I have a suggestion. When we type out a PM that is way too long, we get a runtime error. I was remarking I wished it turned pink like tickets do when our reply is too long and Kate reminded me PMs used to turn pink. I had forgotten all about it. I don't know when it quit but I'd love for that to happen again. Sometimes when we get a runtime error we can get our PM back by right clicking and selecting back but sometimes that doesn't work.

So to make it clear, I wish when a PM is too long that it would turn pink with a message it's too long instead of disappearing in a Runtime error.

Thank you

agapetos -> RE: Wish list (7/28/2008 1:20:29 PM)

I don't think the boys liked the pink though on the grounds it was too girly[:D]

yeah it does that with the signature line too when what you try to put is too long. That would definitely be much better (again) then just losing all that precious typed information (esp for some of us that have trouble typing things out...between carpel tunnel and babies on my lap there are some days I am doing good to get two sentences typed out)

rayofson -> RE: Wish list (7/29/2008 10:01:34 AM)

I'd rather see pink than lose a long PM to a runtime error...'cause then I'd be seeing red.

MyCatSmokey2006 -> RE: Wish list (8/9/2008 12:08:00 AM)

One way to avoid losing text is to highlight it, right-click on the highlighted part, click on COPY in the box that pops up, then go ahead and attempt to post the PM, post, ticket, etc. If you get a runtime error, then you can go back to what you were doing and paste what you copied. That's what I do with most of my posts, so I don't have to type them again.

MyCatSmokey2006 -> RE: Wish list (8/11/2008 10:41:15 PM)

Regarding PM's, I'd like the ability to move some of my SENT messages to other folders. All there is available is archive or delete.

ummm...you should be able to make folders......on the left under where it says "INBOX" etc, should be a fill in box where you can add other folders.....then once you have the folder, when you want to add something to it, go to the bottom of that pm and pull down the drop box beside the "MOVE" button....click the folder you want it in, then click move

That's my problem, Sara. The only buttons under my sent PM's are "Delete" and "go back". I have the folders; just can't get the sent PM's into them. [&:]

I never even paid attention to that before! I created a saved folder and could move PMs from my inbox to it, but not anything in the sent folder, which is what Melissa was saying she'd like to do.

oh, from the SENT folder...sorry, I never noticed that.

Kath -> RE: Wish list (8/12/2008 10:49:10 PM)

That's ok. :) I never even paid attention to the fact we could create a new folder, so I'm glad you brought it up.

You've shattered my illusions of you Kath, I thought you knew everything[;)][:D]

.Pammy -> RE: Wish list (8/13/2008 8:36:18 AM)

I often move PMs that people send me into folders, but I can't keep PMs that I send to people (except in the sent folder, I can't move them into individual folders). I hate that!
