bluestone -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 1:43:28 PM)

Just now when I clicked on "Photography" in sports, it took me to a Stephen King / war thread in current events.

I tried it three times, it happened three times.[&:]

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 2:37:56 PM)

Oh that's too weird. I was just coming here to post the very same thing.

I, too, tried it multiple times . . . 4, I believe.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 2:48:30 PM)

RE: above post

HERE's the post that it actually took me to when I clicked on it while perusing down the forums list.

HERE's the thread I was trying to access (however, going down the forums list, it shows OLEEguacamole as the last poster; not Ezri).

I actually had to click on Sports and Hobbies and then the Photography thread; and then when I clicked on on the box indicating the last post, it took me to Ezri's post - although it was showing the last post be OLEEguacamole's (phantom post?).

bluestone -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 2:57:21 PM)

Tonight I will dream I am taking pictures of Stephen King In Iraq.[:o]

ta_mosquito -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 3:00:32 PM)

I posted in photography thread. Try it again.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 3:11:46 PM)

Tricia, your post over there did "unstick" it.

Fritz, I have noticed many times in the past couple of weeks that the forums list will show "last posts" that are essentially non-existent. However today was the first time that I was redirected to an entirely different folder because of a non-existent post.

I've also noticed this phenomenon of phantom posts with several of my own posts that would "seem" to post correctly, but then wouldn't show up and I would, essentially, have to repost the post.

edited: This may have been reported before; I'm not sure as I didn't read any of the previous posts this thread before reporting this issue today.

christsstar -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 3:44:26 PM)

I echo Shar-Mar. I see a lot of the same hiccups. I wonder if it also has to do with deleted posts.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 3:53:29 PM)

I used to think it had to do with deleted posts, but it does seem to be happening quite a bit more frequently lately. That, and the fact that my posts that have "vanished" were not intentionally deleted (they just simply ceased to exist).

Kath -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 4:38:57 PM)

It doesn't have anything to do with deleted posts. It's those phantom posts. I've checked it out numerous times and what happens is someone tried to post a message but they got a runtime error. However it still shows that the message actually posted when it really didn't. So when you click on it it just takes you to the last message that actually posted at about the same time.

It all seems to have something to do with runtime errors.

christsstar -> RE: Bug Report (5/16/2008 5:16:51 PM)

sounds like problems I'm troubleshooting at work. WE know it exists, we see evidence of it's existence, but we can't figure out how to reproduce it to fix the problem.

MyCatSmokey2006 -> RE: Bug Report (5/18/2008 11:48:52 PM)

This is weird. I posted in my blog tonight, but when I clicked on ok to submit the post, I got a "Runtime Error" message instead of the successful post one. I went to the Blog Towne threads list, which shows my last post on my blog was tonight, but when I went back to my blog, it's not there. Where did my post go? Whatever stole my post needs to cough it up. [:D]

lol...system burp....next time that happens, right click the mouse and hit "BACK"...it will bring up your post again and you can resubmit it. I also (when I remember) try to highlight and copy the post just in case it disappears and I can't get it back again....I have lost too many posts and had to retype them so I learned that one the hard way.

Sometimes that works and other times the computer swallows it instead.

cammo2006 -> RE: Bug Report (6/18/2008 7:07:04 PM)

I'm having a few problems:

- Post Reply button does nothing.
- Reply & Quote links at the top right of posts are doing nothing
- more smileys link directs to the page's URL (hence sending you back to the top which is REALLY annoying)... [:@]

It's definitely not a javascript problem as the Fast Reply box opens fine.

EDIT: Problem does not occur if I log in through the FCN portal.

ta_mosquito -> RE: Bug Report (6/18/2008 7:48:11 PM)

Cammo - which portal are you using where the problems are occurring?

Both last night at home and here at work about half the time when a new page is loaded the adds on the right hand side do not load and there is a big box in its place that squeezes the rest of the screen to about 1/4 its usual width over on the left. If I hit reload it clears up.

Both systems are XP, at home I use the christianity.com port and at work i use the FCN port.
Still happening - very annoying.

Any response anyone????

bluestone -> RE: Bug Report (6/20/2008 11:15:00 AM)

It has happened to me a few times while using IE, but never when using Foxfire or Opera.

I click refresh, and the screen re sizes correctly.

This has been happening to me the last few days. I'm running Vista, using Firefox and logging in through FCN.

I also have experienced many, many, many times that I hit a "post reply" or "quote" button and the outer edge of the reply window comes up but never fills in...no place to type, no smaces, no nothing. I have to exit and try again, sometimes half a dozen times before I get a window that will let me type. I used to think it was my computer but I just bought a brand new one and it still does it.

LoyalGypsy -> RE: Bug Report (6/22/2008 1:14:02 PM)

I can share a fix I used with IE7 on WinXP Pro, but I do not use Vista.

I had a problem opening "links" on certian sites because my Tabs settings in Internet Options were set to "Let Internet Explorer decide how pop us should open"...

Now I never received a pop-up warning that the link was even a pop-up....

.....so I adjusted the Tabs settings to "Always open pop-us in a new window" and it fixed the issues.

Try it, just remember the original setting and if it does not work; roll back to the old setting...

At work we are required to use Netscape; pref 4.7 but I upgraded to 7.2. Running xp pro behind a dept of commerce firewall.

How do I send you a screencap to show what happens?

Hello Dave...

Use print screen at the upper right of the keyboard, that will take a snapshot or copy the entire desktop.

Then paste it into a Word pad ... or MS Word
