Heavens, that's cool!

And the kiddos are old enough to handle it well. I didn't go back to work till both of mine were in high school, but I think I could have a bit earlier than that.

Yes, we've had some pretty serious talks about how it will impact everyone.

I also had the 'do I, don't I' argument with myself over whether I should talk to J about how, if he eats the wrong thing and gets a headache from it, his causing himself to have a headache will impact my ability to work. I'm still not sure on that one. I want him to be aware of the consequences of his actions but I don't want him to feel responsible if something should happen and the job not work out.

I think they're ready for it. My only concern is how I'm going to deal with everything on those days (about once every four weeks) when dh is out of town for a few days as he's responsible for pick up at the end of the school day until places become available on the bus run.

I actually wasn't surprised at who went home.

I think being in the bottom three was a huge shock for Rhiannon. She really believes she's better than that. I can understand her drive, having lived near Minto, but I do think she needs to develop some humility.

I got offered the office job. I start on Monday.

Kylie

Congrats on the new job!

I know what you mean about Rhiannon. I was hoping that she'd be the girl to go home.

Well, it's transition time again. Every time I think about the title to this thread I wonder about whether I should change it and then something happens which makes it very appropriate. I guess I'm just one of those people who doesn't sit in one place well.

We're all organised with J and X getting home now. Apparently J told the taxi driver to turn to early so they did have to do one U-turn but otherwise they did really well.

I'm spending today organising the house so that I don't have to think about how the house looks when I head to work on Monday.

We're going to be doing some rearranging of the garage when dh gets home today.

It was really good. So was the second one.

Although I did come home with a shocker headache this afternoon because I hadn't had caffiene in over 24hrs.

Dh had to race out to the shops between his guitar lesson and music practice. We were out of things like dishwashing liquid, washing detergent, dog food, cat food, bread and milk.

I am really looking forward to when my pay kicks in. We're down $800 because that other job didn't start and I'd already finished up with my old job. It won't take that long to make that up now that I'm working full-time but it is just a bit of a stretch right now.

Well, it's Day 3 and they haven't fired me yet. And we had our first more difficult client today.

The funny thing is that the woman teaching me was really stressed about him but I really didn't think he was that bad. I guess I just think that how he was behaving didn't even come close to some of the stuff I had to deal with when I didn Property Management.

I'm enjoying the work so far although the computer system they use is still very much like me trying to interpret an Arabic person trying to talk French.

Well, glad to hear they're not rattling you yet!

Reminds me, I once saw a poster that said: "Eat a frog first thing in the morning, then nothing during your day can possibly be worse!"

The one I read said to 'Eat a live toad.'

I am starting to get some feel for just how much there is to achieve with my new job. It seems to cycle between 'I'm almost caught up' and 'I'm completely overwhelmed'. I guess that will become less as I get to know the job more but I'm starting realise that it's going to be a great job for not having time to think about anything else while I'm there.

Yes, it is! It means that once I actually have a handle on the job I won't get bored because it's too easy.

I love the challenge this job presents, especially the challenge some of the people I will be dealing with present (people who are longterm unemployed, trying to get their lives on track after jail, coming back from disabilities, have special needs which only allow them to work in certain occupations). It's fascinating!

Today I'm heading off to the hairdresser/beautician. I was going to go last week, before I started my new job, but dh's pay didn't come in on time so I had to put it off a week.

I'm also heading off to buy a couple of work shirts.

The rest of the weekend is going to be about spending as much tme with dh and J as possible as they're both out of town for the majority of the week next week.

Well I'm all waxed and plucked and snipped now. And I was really bad and bought more than just a couple of work shirts. I also bought a pair of pants, a skirt, a shift dress and some shoes.

We're heading to the night service this evening. Dh had to work this morning and won't be back until church is already started.

How are the kids managing?

They're doing really well with it. This week will be a bit of a test. Dh is out of town and J is at camp from Wednesday to Friday. X and I are still sorting out what she's going to do in the afternoons.

Thursday is already sorted as I'll just get her dropped straight to swimming. Wednesday she wants to go to the library and by Friday both dh and J are home.

Yes, it's very intense, but I'm enjoying it. My main issue right now is understanding why I do things.

Well, it's Sunday already.

I had four days (mostly) offline this week. We're having problems with our internet dropping out (and staying out). We're supposed to have a technician look at it on Thursday but now it's working again and I'm not sure whether we still need to have the tech come out or not.

We're off to church shortly. Dh likes going to the evening service. Personally I'd prefer the morning one as I like to just relax in the evenings and not have to rush dinner.

How do you like the church that you are going to? Do you think you'll get more involved as time goes by?
