Lifting all in prayer.

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the LORD, take no rest for yourselves - Isaiah 62:6

My appointment yesterday was amazing. The doctor listened to me, asked about how the pain was affecting my life and offered me a referral to the very doctor I've been trying to get to. He was stunned that so many of my doctors have essentially been saying I wasn't hurt enough to need treatment. He made sure I had a handicap tag since my pain is such that I don't get a lot of warning before it hits. He even suggested that I should get a lawyer to help me get the insurance company of the person responsible for the accident to pay for my treatment. I was stunned! I figured I would have to go in fighting for different treatment instead of being handed more pain pills or at the very least have to repeat a bunch of tests before he would listen to me. I am so glad to have finally found a doctor who will help me.

Praise God S4L!! That is just too cool!

Praying for everyones requests.

Tammy, The bible tells us to pray about everything. If you need the pipes to get fixed then you ask God first. Give Him the opportunity to work a miracle for you before you go rushing off to some plumber. Maybe he won't, But maybe he will!! You never know without asking first.

And maybe He will send a good looking young plumber knocking on your door whose car broke down on the street outside and he needs to use the phone. And you can let him use your phone and then find out that he's single.

You never know...

Thanks for the prayers.

Here's the full deal.

The problem is the sewer lift that's under the house. My house is below grade, so every drop of water that goes down any drain goes into a "crock", it's about the size of a large outdoor trashcan. When the fluid levels rise enough in the crock, a float valve comes on and the pump kicks on. The pump sends the contents of the crock upstream as it were to the main sewer line. I can hear the pump come on because it is under the hallway. So when I hear it, I know it's working.

Well IF for some reason the float valve gets stuck, the pump won't kick on and the contents of the crock spill out under the house.
( Remember I said every drop of water down any drain and the contents of toilets go into this crock. ) That's another way to tell if it's not working. We notice a very unplesant odor in the house!!! The only way to deal with this is to go under the house and check out the problem. It messed up one weekend and it cost me $150 for a plumber to come out!

Well, I'm not opposed to hard work and even getting sweaty doing hard physical labor outdoors. BUT there is one thing I cannot do. I can't go under the house. I'd have a heart attack!!!! So my darling son, BLESS HIM, went under the house. (He said he it smelled like the dog went under there to poo ! ) All he did was nudge the crock and the pump came on!! It's worked ok this evening! I just pray that it will continue to work without problems.

Even though it's working I'm so paranoid now!! When the bath water went out slow, my heart just started pounding, but then I heard the pump kick on! YEA! Thank you Lord!!

My church helped me out financially when a new one was needed. Even finding a plumber that would do a good job & do it correctly!!

Maybe it helps to understand why I get so upset when this thing messes up.

Could use some prayer here.

Lately there has been a harmonic convergence of things (perhaps dissonant convergence is a better term) happening that have brought up some old insecurities that I thought I had defeated, and of course the evil one is trying to bash me over the head with it all.

God will bring me through this, like he always does, but the process is not necessarily a pleasant experience, but I always learn something from it, and that's a good thing. Sorry, Martha Stewart--sue me.

After writing this out, I'm not exactly sure what the prayer is. Maybe that the process doesn't take so long?

Praying Steve. That God shows you what He wants you to learn from this. View it as part of the process of sanctification ... and that is a Good Thing

A prayer request for a team member. She left for work this morning and her 3-year-old was fine. We received an email this afternoon that he died suddenly and very unexpectedly sometime mid-morning.

Please lift this family up in prayer ... Kim and Devin.

Thank you.

Oh, my! The unexpected death of a child is so difficult to deal with, but the glory of God is that child is with our Lord now and we will see them again soon. I will be praying that the family will have a sense of peace and understanding.

Lifting you in prayer Steve. Even though you may not know specifically what to ask for in prayer God knows how to meet this need of yours and I trust that He will.

Glad to hear things are working out teaspoon! And what a blessing that your church family is helping.

That is such a sad thing to hear Sam. I will be lifting up the family in prayer.

I am requesting prayers that God will comfort me in my "SEASON" of singleness. That he fills me with patience and faith and understanding that it won't last forever. (28 years old and been single for 2 1/2 years)

And I also request prayers that God whispers my name to a "certain young man" and that this man hears Him. (Been absolutley crazy about him for 1 year 1/2)

As of half an hour ago, the Toronto Transit Commission is on strike.

It'll be a nightmare for this city, and a nightmare for me if it lasts long. Please pray that the strike will be short.

The plumber came out and fixed the sewer lift yesterday, it's on the fritz again today!

Please pray that this thing will be fixed once and for all.

I've also come to realize that I need pray for my attitude when this happens. I don't deal too well with frustrations like this.

Tammy

I almost forgot about this.

I got a phone call today saying that a girl I grew up with was killed last night in a car accident. I believe she was 24 or 25, and married with 3 children. I call her a girl because the last time I saw her she was quite young. She was a Christian so I believe she's in Heaven right now, but I'm sure her family needs peace and her husband will need help with their 3 children.

Hey, everyone. Just popping in to ask for a quick prayer -- looks like I have cellulitis forming on my arm. My son had it last year and the doctor took it pretty seriously. Now I'm just waiting for one of the doctors to call me back.

Lifting each request in prayer.

In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice;
In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.

Praying for this lady's family who now has to deal with the loss of their mom and wife. I pray God helps them through this very rough time.

And praying Michelle. It sounds like it's caught early so I pray that it clears up quickly.

*sigh*

I really don't know where to start so this will probably be a drawn out one. I apologise but I am so frustrated and so...gah! right now that I just felt like I needed to share it with you.

Thing 2 is in a Sunday night class with 2nd and 3rd graders. He loves his friends, but he is extremely unhappy with the leader and lack of learning anything. IMO he's being fed milk when he's well ready for steak. For his age anyway.

Back during Christmas break I spoke with the Children's Director and he said he would look into it in the New Year. A few weeks later he came to me and said, "Everything is fine, I spoke with the teacher, I know Thing 2 is in good hands; Mr. Steve is a great teacher...blah blah blah..." I told him, "Mr. Steve teaches 4th grade. Thing 2 is in 2nd grade. He has Mr. Dan." "Oh okay! I'll look into it immediately and get back to you." Well...this was January. I have a very strong personality so I make my self wait people out so I don't strike or cause too many ripples.

This month he came to my mother and I and told us both that he was miserable, wasn't learning anything, and really didn't want to go to church. This breaks my heart because Thing 2 absolutely loves church. If you have seen a child who is in love with God, and has a servants heart and thirsts to see and learn everything about Him, then you've seen Thing 2. However, he is still human and one of his downfalls is when he gets bored, he loses interest and I don't want to see that happen with church of all places. I want him to continue to want to go to church.

So I spoke with the Children's Minister and asked him if he could move up a grade and perhaps get better fed there. He told me if he did it for one, he would have to do it for all. *sigh* I understand that, but I also remember when Thing 1 had similar issues (mind you, a different Children's Director as well) and he was easily accommodated.

So tonight he comes to me and says there is no way he can do anything for Thing 2 short of him just waiting it out.

Soooo...I am now at the point that I have no clue what to do...lol. My dad suggested I go to the preacher and discuss it with him. I see it as a gripe session and am not so sure.

I don't even know what I need prayer for. This is one of this times that I loathe being single because it would be nice to know if I am completely overreacting, or validated or what. I will probably email the preacher tomorrow to set up a good meeting time, but other than that...I honestly don't know what to do. I feel like I'm failing as a parent because I can't even secure simple Bible classes for my child, and I feel like the system is working against me so I'm so lost. I know God is here with me, but right now...I just need someone else. You know?

Just keep us in your prayers...God knows more of what I need than I obviously do right now. I so don't want Thing 2 to be discouraged, but I don't want to be one of those crazy mum's that fights the system because she feels her 'baby' isn't being treated fairly.

Thanks.
