Ok, ok...truth be told, two or three of her five bathrooms are more than likely more square footage than our entire little apartment (and there really isn’t a walk-in closet either). [;)] Praise God for our cozy little apartment!

A lot of you are making accusations based on assumptions, and in the process of your assumptions, downgrading God's servants which God may or may not be well pleased with. I could see many of you accusing Solomon because of his great wealth if you were alive in his days. None of us can read the hearts of men and women, only God can, so how can we judge Joyce Meyer and others like that. Am I denying the possibility of sin in their lives? No. I'm not assuming it either. Joyce Meyer ministries has done a lot of work and still does in countries around the world (i.e. India, etc). Just because she has a nice house, or a few, doesn't mean nothing. This is the truth I speak here, and some of you may not like what I have just posted, but I don't live life pleasing men and women.

I used to watch Joyce Meyers for awhile. I've seen 65+ of her videos, and it is not all about financial and materialistic prosperity. She helped me through her biblical teachings to bear better fruit in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. She taught me so much more that has nothing to do with financial or materialistic prosperity. The financial and materialistic things she did teach I find no major error in. The point is to trust God and obey Him, and He will bless you according to His will. God has blessed Joyce Meyers with wealth, just like He blessed Solomon with wealth. How they use it is between them and God.

The reason I don't watch Joyce Meyers no more is because I'm a doer of the word and not just a hearer, so I've learned the specific areas she specializes in, and I have moved on to other teachings. I don't need to hear the same messages over and over, but it seems many people do because they are not applying her teachings as well as they should. Christians are like that everywhere though. No matter what church you go to around the world, their are always Christians that are hearers but not doers. And they wonder why their life is not changing for the better. I turned to Christ and my life gets better and better as I become MORE OBEDIENT. All glory goes to God. This is one of the reasons Joyce Meyers appears so popular, people don't apply God's word in their lives as well as they should, so they go back to her and learn the same things over and over. I learned the things, applied them to my life, so I need other teachings that Joyce doesn't cover. There is a season for all things, but many Christians remain in a season all their life when they should be twenty seasons ahead. I've covered all the 'seasons' that Joyce teaches, so I have moved on and don't need to watch her no more. Joyce Meyers is a good preacher in the area she specializes in.

"I didn't have that thing for five minutes and I said, 'OK, God. Next I'll take $5 million,'" Meyer later told an audience in Tampa.

It is this kind of hard-edged audacity that has made Meyer one of the biggest names in big-name TV evangelism and has endeared the Fenton grandmother to millions of faithful supporters worldwide. At 60, she shows no signs of slowing down as she stretches herself further.

In St. Louis last month, Meyer asked for a $7 million check. "That would really bless me," she said."

Sometimes soft, sometimes tough, Meyer's plea for money, like most things she does, is matter-of-fact and without apology.

"Some of you need to sow a special seed this weekend," Meyer told her Detroit audience. "Don't be a $10 man all your life. Don't even be a $100 man all your life. . . . You have to give sometimes until it hurts. It needs to cost you something."

Sometimes, she's more demanding. "I don't have to stand here and beg," she told the crowd in Buffalo. "What God wants you to do here tonight is to pay for somebody else to watch my show."

Meyer told her Detroit audience about those who are unhappy with the way she pleads for money.

"People say, 'I don't want to hear about the money, the money, the money, the money. I came to hear Joyce. I didn't come to hear about the money,'" Meyer said. "Giving will change your life. When God gives you an increase, you give more."

Meyer is fond of nice things and is willing to spend for them. From an $11,000 French clock in the ministry's Fenton headquarters to a $105,000 Crownline boat docked behind her vacation home at Lake of the Ozarks, it's clear her tastes run more to Perrier than to tap water.

The building is decorated with religious paintings and sculptures, and quality furniture. Much of it, Meyer says, she selected herself.

A Jefferson County assessor's list offers a glimpse into the value of many of the items: a $19,000 pair of Dresden vases, six French crystal vases bought for $18,500, an $8,000 Dresden porcelain depicting the Nativity, two $5,800 curio cabinets, a $5,700 porcelain of the Crucifixion, a pair of German porcelain vases bought for $5,200.

The decor includes a $30,000 malachite round table, a $23,000 marble-topped antique commode, a $14,000 custom office bookcase, a $7,000 Stations of the Cross in Dresden porcelain, a $6,300 eagle sculpture on a pedestal, another eagle made of silver bought for $5,000, and numerous paintings purchased for $1,000 to $4,000 each.
Inside Meyer's private office suite sit a conference table and 18 chairs bought for $49,000. The woodwork in the offices of Meyer and her husband cost the ministry $44,000.

Meyer drives the ministry's 2002 Lexus SC sports car with a retractable top, valued at $53,000. Her son Dan, 25, drives the ministry's 2001 Lexus sedan, with a value of $46,000. Meyer's husband drives his Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG sedan.

"My husband just likes cars," Meyer said. The Meyers keep the ministry's Canadair CL-600 Challenger jet, which Joyce Meyer says is worth $10 million, at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield. The ministry employs two full-time pilots to fly the Meyers to conferences around the world.

Security is important to Meyer, who says she has received death threats. She has a division of the ministry dedicated to her safety. Her officers wear pistols; they guard the headquarters' front gate, keeping out anyone but employees and invited guests.

The ministry bought a $145,000 house where the security chief lives rent-free to keep him close to the ministry's headquarters.

Since 1999, the ministry has spent at least $4 million on five homes for Meyer and her four children near Interstate 270 and Gravois Road, St. Louis County records show.

Meyer's house, the largest of the five, is a 10,000-square-foot Cape Cod style estate home with a guest house and a garage that can be independently heated and cooled and can hold up to eight cars. The three-acre property has a large fountain, a gazebo, a private putting green, a pool and a poolhouse where the ministry recently added a $10,000 bathroom."

Sweetie, You are just too young yet to fully understand the whole picture, and I do not mean that in a bad way at all because I have sons close to your age and I was that age myself once. So I have an idea about the thoughts of the younger people. It's called experience and wisdom as we grow older. I was told the same things by my parents and learned they were right. And, as you grow older as well as my sons are also going to grow older you too are going to obtain wisdom.

Remember, All those who say Lord, Lord will not enter the kingdom of heaven. And, they also told Jesus did I not cast out demons in your name and perform miracles? And, what do you suppose they would do if asked to give up their fine homes and live a more conservative life and contribute to charity for the poor? I could never be happy living the way these evangelists do knowing there are so many in need. It is unrighteous and these people are known by their fruits. The appear to do good. And, true these evangelist along with Joyce Meyer have encouraged but there is something in it for them, and when it is $$$$$$$$$ material gain, then it is not of the kingdom of Heaven.

None of the disciples or those who went out teaching and spreading the word of Jesus after his ascension became wealthy. In fact, some of them died in prison and were murdered. The wealthy ones were the scribes and pharisees. It should never be about material gain.

And, my question, is this for someone,, where does the money go? And why is it that the federal govt allows them to live free there? Doesn't that tell you something? That is a mark of the beast clearly carnal....Remember Jesus paid his taxes. Some things we just learn through the years and obtaining wisdom. And from our elders we can learn alot.

And, if the truth be known, I really believe she is more of a prisoner and a puppet and was led by her own desires and this is where it led her and she is taking others with her, right along with some of the other evangelists. John Hagee's ministry of private school tuition is obscene. When I learned that I stopped watching and listening to him and I do not listen to her anymore.

Ok, this is an off topic response, but these verses are so taken out of context and used to prevent women from reaching their full potential.

And this is exactly what I like about her. She teaches from a perspective of making it actually useful in our modern everyday lives.

Do you not agree with this that words contain power? If words don't contain power, how did God create with words? This is certainly not a teaching I have an issue with.

My main issue with her right now is that she seems to have gotten off-track. I have no problem with her making a good living. She works hard and deserves to make a good living and be generous with her family just as much as any other CEO of any business in the world. My problem is that she is very secretive with her company's financial records, or at least last I heard she was, and I think that's a very bad sign.

I guess I should add that in addition to being secretive with the company's financial records, when confronted on the issue, I guess what disappointed me the most was that she took exactly the same route all the other televangelists take and would be forthcoming. That really, really bugs me.

I would be willing to bet the federal govt has their hand in her pocket, and the poor who are contributing to her would end abruptly since, after all we give enough to the federal govt. They get their more fair share.

I never give money unless I know what account it is going in and what the purpose is to be used. There again, we as Christians are accountable to God for our tithes and to what purpose it is used. So we must be careful it is not used for evil.

By govt involvement, I think she tithes to them...Just my opinion though...with all the tv evangelists living so lavishly. And honestly, I suppose she started out with the right intentions, but money changes some people.

I have never contributed to her ministry. I choose my own charities of which I know where the money is going to be used and I see it being used and it is for the poor.

I have not read any of the other posts...

My only experience with Joyce Meyers has been a four tape set to the subject of "husbands and wives".

This four tape set was used powerfully by the Lord to the healing of the relationship between my wife and I. I would recommend it to anyone.

Off track? How about a MAJOR reversal from biblical-centered teaching? It would appear that at least in some significant areas, she is completely unbiblical.

I have her book, Beauty from Ashes, and it really helped me through a dificult time a few years back. There was nothing in there that I found unbiblical. However, that was before somebody told me about all this. They said that Hank Hanegraf (the "Bible Answer Man"), didn't like her because of her WOF connections. I researched it, and it's true. Here's the link to his website where he talks about her.

He mainly talks about that booklet where she said Jesus had to go to hell. Yes, she may not mention that anymore, but that doesn't mean she no longer believes it. She may simply have removed it when things got too controversial. I would feel much more comfortable if she would come out and apologize and say she doesn't believe it. Until then, I won't be able to support her.

And btw, I had no idea she lived so lavishly. That's another thing that makes me uncomfortable. And not releasing your ministry's financial records is a huge red flag.

If more people took the time to do what the Bible says and test all teaching against Scripture, they would not fall for the warped theology of these WoF teachers!

Off track? How about a MAJOR reversal from biblical-centered teaching? It would appear that at least in some significant areas, she is completely unbiblical.


The words she said are true.

I came out of the occult, and words have power when spoken.

God created the worlds and "spoke" them into existance, "and the things which appear do not consist in what is seen...."

"life an death are in the power of the tongue".

But the problem with this is that we were never intended to use words to manipualte reality to our will.

This is what is done in the occult, and having perverted the hidden knowledge of the workings of faith into "formula", they use occult techniques to have what is called a "perfect thought" in the occult.

But true "faith" comes as a natural result to, and the automatic end, of our being in closeness of relationship with God.

YES, if you speak with your mouth, and do not doubt in your heart, but believe and expect what you say to happen, you can have whatsoever you say.

But we are not to be little witches, mindful with intent of the words which are spoken in order to manipulate things according to our will.

God does not require nor need us to make confessions of words, like so much encanations, over offerings in order to bless us does He?

Is God limited to our words in order to bless His children? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

This kind of reasoning is perverted faith, twisted to gain for the individual, putting faith IN faith, and not in God.

This was incredibly confusing for me, to have come out of the occult, straight into a "word of faith church", finding the same things as used in the occult, but used by Christians in Jesus name. It is not meant to be this way.

If we abide in Christ, and His Word in us, we will seek God’s will and not our own. We will seek eternal reward rather than earthly mammon.

I used to see all of the Jim Bakkers, Jimmy Swaggarts, and any other famous evangelist as evil - something about getting materialistically wealthy with God's Word turned my stomach. Then I did a study on the following scriptures.

Philippians 1:15. It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill.

Philippians 1:16. The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel.

Philippians 1:17. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while i am in chains.

Philippians 1:18. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. ANd because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice.

We must remember the big picture......SATAN VERSES JESUS (Good verses Evil). No, I don't agree with some of Joyce Meyer's doctrine, but she is doing good. She has helped millions of people with her words - She is preaching Chirst. I'm thankful she is accomplishing things for Christ. Therefore, I'm going to

REJOICE FOR JOYCE.

Do you just suppose that maybe those who seek prosperity and materialism looking at her ministry and think by what she has obtained they can do the same thing? Therefore, these people are led by their own desires? Because when led by our own desires we are bound to fall and when we do not let God pick us up we never are able to stand up again. Only God knows her heart and true intentions and you are right when Jesus told one of the disciples (paraphrasing) not to say anything to anyone who teaches in his name because one of God's can be saved.

At that, I rejoice for her ministry and anyone's ministry who brings one more person to Jesus. Thank you for that reminder. I knew that, and I am carrying that one with me. I am certainly going to try to not to be judgmental of others. She is not perfect and certainly neither am I. Far far from it.

I used to respect Joyce Meyer...until she fell into the same money-worshipping, materialistic, plastic-surgery, fast-crowd of free-spenders as every other preacher cut from that cloth (you know who they are - Swaggert, Jim and Tammy-Faye, etc.)

15 years ago, I would have told you that she was too dignified and Graced for that kind of thing - but she has mangaged to prove me wrong, and turn out just to be another celebrity with a big ego and a big bank account.

As I have mentioned in one of my posts in this thread, I came out of the occult straight into a WoF church, seeing the same type of priciples of believing and receiving, which has to do with visualization techniques to attrack your life to yourself.

But beyond this, I spent almost ten years in this kind of doctrine, until I was sensitive enough to the Spirit to leave them.

I did not understand WHY this stuff was wrong, only that it gave me a check in my spirit which I could not deny or identify specifically.

Now, I understand why, but so long as I was surrounded by it, it was contiually pounded into me as being valid, and what God wanted for us.

My point is,

that "it could have been me" and in fact was me, with the exception of not being forefront in the public eye.

I believed a lie, and was guilty of speaking it as the truth to others.

SO - let us all instead pray for these who have been turned away by deception, that they too would be turned again to the straight way.

Let us not be so quick to pick up stones to throw, but let our hearts break for the sake of the gospel and the truth, and intercede in their behalf, and/or even write to them directly and share our hearts rather than talking about them amongst ourselves to no fruit.[&o]
