Why is it, do you suppose, that from my earliest remembrance, I discovered the older folks liked the Psalms and Proverbs best? I always found Grandma's Bible opened just there. Yet the young uns couldn't even find the Old Testament? And now MY Bible is beginning to fall open to the P & P?

That's where much of the wisdom for living a Christian life is found.

amen the young are too curious about all the wrong things and too young to know it. that's why our beginning to get wisdom starts in the school of hard knocks.... spare the rod kinda learning.

Hello Euty, you have resurrected an ol' thread. How many are still around?

oh man, am I glad my 40's are over.. lots of changes to my life.. the next half of my life is gonna be GREAT!!! i remember in catholic grammar school we had a morning delivery of milk in little pint bottles that sat on the radiator all morning and it was delicious luke warm.. (now luke warm milk is yeck!) recess came and we had 10 cents and bought a whole handful of penny candy - candy necklaces, pretzels, a 5 cent candy bar maybe. all for 10 cents! we called our freinds to play by walking down the street to their house and yelling out "yo-oh Roger!" and if they didn't hear you would change the tune and go "yo oh ROGERRRRRR!" and then keep upping that tune in a higher pitch. hehe the neighbors had a front yard with big trees and a big front porch steps, we used to go in there and pretend we were in the woods and hide in the crevace next to the steps.. I mean it was only a small city front lawn, but it felt like a forest to us little kids.

This sounds really old-------but I suspect with the 5c candy bar there is a little more age here than just outside 40???

this looks like a fun thread. Is this where we explain away the aches and pains or try to understand why we are having them. By the way CalRed, I can remember the 10 cent (computer boards don't even have the cent key anymore) ice cream bar. Miss those. cheers!

I am 45 years old and have my own ministry. Do I count? LOL God Bless quote:
ORIGINAL: oopsmartin There are quite a few of some of the old gang I've been missing. We used to have quite a bunch of theologians, teachers, pastors, etc who were 40 yrs and above. Wondering where you all are. Not going to name names cause I cannot remember all and don't want anyone to feel slighted. Just hoping that some of you will show up and we can make this a general chat thread. Besides the fun of reminiscing, which we all love to do about everything, I thought we could examine the changes we've gone through as church workers. Being older and being church workers we do have our own peculiar set of problems. I'm keeping it loose so you all can decide on the ebbs and flows of our conversation. But I look forward to conversing with fellow workers who are also in the same age ranges. grace and peace, M.
