quote:
ORIGINAL: Doveflight Hmm, my experience from the beginning was to see Christians living double lives. Those I knew more intimately caused me to be suspicious of others who seemed to be right on but I knew less intimately to know the facts. As I met more of the first and fewer of the latter, I suspected most everyone. I kept striving and striving to be purer and better while others told me not to be too hard on myself and it can't be done until Christ comes and takes us to be glorified. So just do the best you can and wait for His return. I now know we all have feet of clay but we also need each other to encourage and help us walk upright before our God and that by the power of God, not our striving, we are able to do so. "...we must wrestle with our refusal to keep traveling between desire and satisfaction where God neither answers our prayer..nor clearly illumines a path... God lets us wait--not to punish us, not because he has forgotten us, but because our waiting is the crucible he uses to purify our hope for him." (Dan Allender) As we mature in perspective through life and experiences, we also mature our faith through pain and loss. He is always there. Great thoughts. yes, we all have "feet of clay", and we all should remember we have limited intellectual eyesight. [;)] so does anyone think they are really more "mature" to any great degree that's worth a lot. or have we just painfully learned to keep our hands away from most of the flames of life and understand that as maturity. hehe Frankly our lives are so short these days , less than 100 expectancey, I don't think we have TIME to really mature. I mean when did Adam reach "maturity"? Maybe at about 550? If it weren't for being able to laugh, I think I'd just fall asleep under a tree like (who was that?) and never wake up.
