Trish, Isn't satay sauce Thai? I just love Thai food! It ranks right up at the top along with Mexican food.

Gary, is your work in photography or is it strictly a hobby? Thanks for all your tips!

It is a hobby. It is an output for my creativity and a way to relax.

Lori, I think satay is. I know after I had surgery last year, I couldn't eat much. I craved satay chicken so bad, that we had to put some in a blender so that my stomach could handle it when I was at the baby food stage. A little bit lasted for days.

Good morning Pam,

I will have three

#1 is a black and white image of a dead tree in a lake. It is a stark scene but I am drawn to this spot. I have a color image of the same spot which I may use as an avatar after Christmas.

#2 is a color image of an old barn door. The paint is faded and even gone in spots.

#3 is a color image of an old house with the doors windows and even some walls gone, but there are clothes in the closet by the front door.

Gary, do you use much in the way of black and white? What about sepia tones?

Trish, I would say about 30% of my film photography is black and white. When I use B&W I tend to use filters to increase the contrast between sky and clouds, as well as other things I have to use a slower shutter speed, which means I have to use a tripod. So shooting B&W is a much more deliberate process than shooting color.

I have never done sepia. If I good find a good processor that can print sepia I might try it.

Good evening (((Rachell))), (((Trish))) and (((Shar Mar)))

Shar Mar, Yes I do my own matting, I use the double sided pressure adhesive. It comes on a 50 foot roll. This is not the best archival method which would be the linen tape corner mounts. This is just easier for me.

Trish, This weekend ai have several things scheduled. I just got home from the KU women's basketball game. Tomorrow I am going to judge one round of a high school debate. Go to (and shoot) the Christmas horse parade, turn in my prints for the gallery show, go to another basketball game adn do the usual weekend house work. I should be done running around by 4 pm. The parade and the basketball game I consider recreational and fun.

Sunday after church we have our monthly potluck lunch so I won't have to make dinner, just one thing. When I get home I will probably watch some sports on TV

I am the type of person who has to be doing something. Even when I am watching TV I am eiher playing on the computer or reading the paper.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

I do that too...always doing more than one thing at once. Hmmm...could be why homework takes so long sometimes!

Enjoy your weekend Gary!

Hi Trish,

Currently I am watching a basketball and a football game. I have 2 TV's in my study. And I have a cat on my lap and laundry in the dryer.

It was cold watching the horse parade today and the batteries on my camera got too cold to work. I turned in my prints for the members show, so that is done.

Wow! King of Multitasking!!!!

Doer does the same thing. He will be watching TV, reading a book and playing online all at the same time! How do you guys do that???!!!!!

Bummer about the cold batteries, Gary. I was looking forward to hopefully catching a couple of pics from the parade...

Hope you are at the start of a most excellent week!

Rach

Good morning Rachel,

It is bright sunny and COLD!! I got to work this morning and there are 2 cakes in the break room, including a red velvet cake, one of my favorites.

This mult-tasking must be a guy thing.

I was talking late Saturday afternoon to a guy who does a lot of outdoor photography in cold weather. He said to carry extra batteries in a pocket close to the body, so that body heat can keep them warm.

Again, Rachel congratulations to you and Doer. Just keep your eyes on God and he will guide the both of you.
