Anybody want seconds on pie? How about you Marsha?

Lori, I prefer the college and high school games over the professional one, especially with football and basketball.

But with baseball I like them all. I even score baseball games.

Hello Gary! How are you doing?

Hi Pam,

That was a dicey neighborhood to live in. Another time two of my roomates were robbed in the street. Again no one was hurt.

Thank God for his mighty Angels of protection!! I can relate to an extent, but a totally different scenario...

Pee-caaan pie is from When Harry Met Sally. You have to hear it in a nasely rasphy voice from Billy Crystal. It's kinda funny.

But if it weren't for that movie, my pronunciation is puh-cahn.

Good morning Shar-Mar, Pam and Christine -- hugs to all.

I prononce it pee-kahn.

Anyway, had a busy night last night. Picked up my prints from the developers. I will matte and frame them after I get back from Wichita. This is for a exhibition of my photography group. We are having a show at the Art Center for two weeks in December.

I was also making arrangements for the group Christmas dinner. For the last 3 years we have held the dinner at the studio of a woman in the group. I have been trying to contact her for the last 2 weeks to make arrangements and have received not response, so we were making other arrangements. Last night I received an email from her saying that she had been out of the country getting married. Her husband is from Chile. Anyway I call the group president and we set the date for the dinner. Now I have to call the catereer and change the date.

I will be leaving for Wichita at noon tommorrow for the weekend. I will have only minimum computer access for the weekend. I can do dialup at my mothers or go to a coffee shop for wifi access with my laptop.

Hope you all are having a good day.

If I don't get to talk to you before you head off to your folks tomorrow, have a great time with them, Gary. No eating too much pie, however you pronounce it.

Looks like we are going to have beautiful weather.
Have a good holiday weekend Gary!

Lori, it's my nephew...I only have little girlies. He'll be playing for Fresno State University. This is his freshman year.

Shar Mar, I say pecan pie like you do...it's the sophisticated way

Hi Gary!

Yeah, I guess I do say it as puh kahn, not really pi kahn. I have only tried making them once even though my MIL gave us wonderful pecans every few years. I guess she kept our cravings for pecan pies fed. Now that she is gone I need to start making them. But of course I will probably just buy the pillsbury pie crusts!

Karlie, I have an aunt & uncle that live in Fresno. In fact I believe he retired from a jr. college there. (or someplace like that) They are wanting us to visit them soon since they come here at least once a year. So how old are you girls? I have a 11yo DS, 8 yo DS and a 6yo DD.

Lori, Fresno is only about 40 miles from me...in fact, I'll be transfering to school there in January. Let me know if you ever come for a visit!

My girls are 17 and 21...my oldest is on her own now and stationed in Georgia(Navy) and we're missing her like crazy! She will be home for Christmas though as long as nothing escalates in the Middle East. Because of her job, her leave is subject to cancelation if things heat up there. They better not!

Hmmm...you know Karlie, now I am not sure if they live in Clovis or Fresno.
It is one of the two.

Oh, I do hope she will be home with you for Christmas. I just can't imagine what a Christmas overseas in the Middle East would be like!

I'm headed out now.
May others see Christ in you today Karlie!

Good afternoon, Rachel, Lori, Trish, Karlie and Christine

My mother usually make pumpkin and apple pies.

The forcast is highs in the mid 60's on Wednesday and cooler after that.

Karlie, Fresno State is a good program. The western and southern schools draw the better players. There is less bad weather early in the season. (College baseball runs from February to June) . Hope that your oldest can be with you for Christmas.

May you all have a blessed Thanksgiving.

At least I know her chances of being sent there are really slim since she's not trained in combat. She was supposed to do a tour there, but they've pretty much closed that for anyone whose job can be done in a safer area, and her's can. The most that would happen is she would have to stay on base to interpret.

Christine, I love pumpkin pie! I've never made one since I'm the only one who likes it. I always have some at Mom's though. She makes pumpkin chiffon pies and those are sooo yummy. Homemade apple pies are my specialty. I even have my own recipe that took me years and about a thousand pies to get perfect.

An American friend of ours made pumpkin pie for us one Christmas. I have to admit, there must be something wrong with my taste buds as I didn't like it all that much. Oh well, more for everybody else.

Hey Gary. Just wanted to wish you a safe trip as you go to be with your folks for Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving too, by the way.

I'm sorry you won't be here for Darcy's party, but hey, I'm sure there will be other parties around the place some time that you can come to.

Well Karlie, will you share your apple pie recipe in my recipe thread?
Holiday Recipe Thread
I'm lacking a good apple pie recipe. My MIL made great apple pies with apples from her own tree. She never wrote down her recipes and now she is gone.

Gary, have a great time with your family and drive safe!

Good morning Trish, Lori and Karlie

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

My usual pie receipes include my mother's crust receipe and canned filling.

I will post the crust receipe after I get home and get the card out (I'm not sure about the quantities). It is a good crust.

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody.

Trish, I am at my mother's using her phone line and my old laptop which makes loading the posts soooo slooow. I got on this morning before dinner and now after dinner I am on again. We had the smoked turkey that my BIL smoked for about 8 hours. It was nice and tender with a smoked taste. I am partaking of another USA tradition, watching football on TV, haha.

Looks like you guys had a great party for Darcy at Denny's last night.

Tomorrow I will go to a coffee shop with wifi and log back on. I am having a serious case of CW withdrawal.

So see you tomorrow.
