Pastors are skeery people to me. I always assume when they ask a question that it's a trick. Like when one asked, "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and lays duck eggs, what is it?" I figured the answer had to be an angel, a saint, or a prophet but I froze up and could only think of a duck. I blurted out something about my cat being on fire and I needed to rush home so he didn't think I'm nuts - or backslidden.

One of the leaders where I attend said that "Waddling, quacking, and looking like a duck are not the essence of duckness."

So glad to have been of assistance!
But if you will pause for a moment I can prove that I can spell it.

SEE.

Aside from all of that- No one cared enough to ask why I did not have a whine?

I might be offended by that. I have no church whine because..... We are leaving the miserable place!

I am sure that the next place will likely spurn a whole new list of whines, but they will be NEW whines so you will not be bored with them.

~e

PS-For future reference, I cannot spell "I"... watch my posting and you will see it spelled "i" far too often.

- People gossiping in the pews before the start of service - the same people never 'gossip the gospel'! (no surprise there).

- The Ministers in certain congregations who fail in their duty to bring the full gospel message to their church congregations (in the home town where I live that is and many more across the UK) for fear of what their congregations will think (and "yes" - I am talking Christian Ministers surprisingly).

Okay so I found a whine...

Folks that complain"When is such and such a church gonna come get the VBS decorations?" when they drive past such and such a church 2 times EVERY SINGLE DAY and never once offer to just DROP THE STUFF OFF!!! if the stuff is still there tomorrow and the complaining is still happening I will personally take the stuff myself. Some folks- they'd throw away 300.00 in decorations because so and so has not been able to get here yet and they want it out of the building.

HEH! I am going to be attending the receiving church next Sunday anyway.

That's probably true. One would probably have to pluck the feathers and simmer it for several hours to get the true essence of duckness.

Every year we have what we call Awesome August. Instead of one week of revival with one preacher or evangelist, we have a different guest speaker each Monday evening of the month.

Monday night, we had Mac Brunson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, as a special guest speaker. It was a superb service!

But I'm used to going to church on Wednesday so my week has been messed up since. Tuesday seemed like Thursday, Wednesday seemed like Friday, Thursday seemed like Friday, and Friday seemed like Friday!

Next week we'll have Fred Luter from New Orleans - another excellent preacher. But my head will be messed up all over again.

After that, Dennis Swanberg will be our guest....

I seen a lot of it... just ain't here- I mean, HELLO!, whats the point of a whiners thread if people are just gonna start new threads about their individualized whines rather than gatherin' em all together here????

This should be the one stop whiner's thread- all happy threads could be floating in their respective folders, but put all the 'my pastor crosses his eyes when he preaches' and the 'my husband only takes me out to eat 6 days a week' and the 'my children need to just STOP being so perfect' already threads should be rolled into one- here!!!!!!!!!! Make FCN a rainbows and sunshine kinda place, ya know??

I think that whining has it's place in all aspects of life.

To be healthy...

We need a strong relationship with God.
We need exercise.
We need a good cry.
We need to be able to whine and to do it with worthy whine recipients.

I've got at least 3 of these down but for the life of me find it hard to find WWRs in real life.

This is where the whiners thread comes in handy. We read each others whine and either comment or move along.

I don't know about you but I get tired of happyhappy joyjoy Christians sometimes. What is really happening under that fake demeanor?

C'mon! Let it all out...........

Okay, since you are going to go and get all serious on us -- sort of --I'll give you my 2¢ worth Walker.

There is a good reason for all Pollyanna attitudes. I know, I have lived Pollyanna.

There is someone on CW that is scaring me, because this person is so exuberant about their marriage and their spouse, and I can see myself (a few years ago) in what they are writing. What I was Pollyannaing was that my marriage was far from the perfect I was portraying, and all the Pollyannaing was a coverup for my public image and so that I would not have to face the actual facts.

However, now, since G-d has dealt with us both, and we have faced and dealt with our issues, you betcha I am "happyhappy joyjoy" about it. You betcha I am pleased! And you betcha it is on my mind and I write about it.

I don't think that all people who are joyous are heades-in-the-clouds. As I have said before, I already lived my terrestrial hell as a child. Live since then, even though I lost one husband, reared two children alone, lived decades in and was catapulted out of a cult, etc., since my 18 (guess it was 19.5, really) years of terrestrial hell, I am prone to much "happyhappy joyjoy," and since being "catapulted out of the cult,' I am even more prone toward "happyhappy joyjoy."

I really can't see that happy people are fake at all. I think they are just enjoying life -- at least for those I know today.

I agree, as much as we 'love one another' there is sometimes the reality that it is a little harder to 'like one another'... as well as the simple reality that the janitor, the nursery worker, the sunday school teachers, the pastor, and anyone I might have missed (who is welcome to whine about it ) is human... and this creates moments of notsohappyhappywannakillkill- for anyone... 'good little Christian' or not

Here we can get together and have those 'human' moments, while knowing that others will be there for us

Allrightythen! Lemme whine! (Too bad I'm allergic to cheese, or I'd have some with my whine.)

I'll whine about the fact that I slept so late that I missed services today.

I'll whine about the amount of money I have had to drop in my Stressed Box (although I am more pleased about the amount in my Mellow Box). But you don't want to read about what I am happy about . . .

I'll whine that we let people wear shoes on our white hardwood floor, and this morning, I noticed the damage.

I'll whine that people do not read the signs I put up at work.
