May I be the first to wish you Happy Valentine's?
How is everyone this very fine Friday night? We're just right as rain and have a soft rain falling even now.
Tonight was an easy supper night. Hubby even did the cooking. We're round the t.v. watching a Gaither DVD. We usually end up watching several before bed and going to bed later than planned, but.... hey, Southern Gospel is a religious experience!
I only had 2 daycare children today. One is still 'away' and one won't be coming anymore. He's got a terminal illness and REALLY needs full time nursing care. It was impossible for me to care for him and the other 3. I also got offered a baby due in 7 weeks. The mom is having some problems tho, and doctor thinks the little girl will be early. She's another school teacher's child and I'm starting to think God is leading me in that direction so I can have off 2 months each summer. As it stands, I've been doing 5 LONG days a week, 52 weeks a year.
Well other than picking up the things still needed for my Valentine's Party for my four year old Sunday School class, I have no plans other than church on Sunday. I've even chosen the outfit to wear, to match my 'party' theme. I'm going to use a different Bible story instead of the Lifeway story, centering on The Love of God.
OUCH, that natural gas bill I was expecting next week came today. It is near $300.! It was for all of January. That was an eye opener! I cranked the heat down and put on a heavy sweater over my turtleneck!
I hope you've all had a very lovely day and that God's hand has been visible to you in everything you did today.

Oh, I know I'm early but love is all around! Love makes the world go round.

Happy Weekend everyone! We've had a lazy Saturday. I used the minor discomfort left in one eye as a good excuse for a long nap.... not that I need an excuse!
I ran out early this morning and got small Valentine's Cupcakes for my Sunday School class. I also got straws that have 3 large pastel hearts threaded through, heart pencils and candy and put it all in Valentine's bags. I've got some Veggie Tale Sticker's from the soon to be released 'Sheerluck Holmes', coloring pictures, activity books and $2.00 off coupons too. We're going to watch the movie after our lesson tomorrow. It's really good... but then I love Veggie Tales.
So what are YOUR plans for Valentine's Day? We usually don't do anything or may eat out a day or so early to beat the crowd. We're pretty simple people and I'm an easy going gal. You have to be to live in a house of MEN!
I've been contacted about a new infant that is due in 7 weeks. Mom may just deliver early but since she's a teacher, I'd only have baby 1 week or so before school ends until July 31st. Hubby and I have been talking and if he can get a better paying job, having all teacher's infants would give me June and July off! He'd really like for me to not have to do childcare at all but I see it as a way to get ahead and then begin to do things like replace the carpet ruined by my daycare children and maybe even have the backyard sodded! Oh how I'd love that! I'd hate to put TOO much money into our house because it would eat into the equity we've got and since these are smaller homes, a major home improvement would never be recouped. We've tried grass seed for 5 years and nada!
There's another chance of ice or snow in the morning. If that occurs, there'll be no church service. Our area is not equipped for any winter weather. It's already snowing in some northern counties. I'd love to get a good 10 inches or so of snow! Nick was only an infant when we left Connecticut so he's not seen more than a dusting. I LOVE snow!

Happy Valentine’s Day Friends!
Happy Sunday to Everyone! I hope you had a great day in the Lord's House. Our preacher for the day was Rev. Danny Watters from the Georgia Baptist General Assembly and he was excellent! Again, the altar was filled with people praying.
I only had 3 children in Sunday School! I've got 8 kids on role but 2 have not ever attended. Three out of six is bad. Last week I had 7 plus two visitors. I'm guessing this wicked cold wind and snow flurries kept people home in bed. Hey, people up north go to church when it's 30° so I don't understand the problem!
I took a really long nap again this afternoon. I used to be able to take a short nap every afternoon. Now that I have infants to care for, it's hard to sneak in even a short nap. I'm exhausted by the weekend BUT I have begun going to bed much earlier and no longer have to get up before 6:30. Hubby has this awful habit, tho. He sets his alarm for 30 -45 mins. before he plans to get up. Snooze... snooze... Well, Scooter sleeps in our master bathroom and he doesn't understand snooze buttons so I have to get up and walk him the first time it goes off!
Hubby has a job interview this Tuesday and has been recommended by a head hunter for another position that would call for us to move to Nashville sometime in the future. I don't know how housing costs compare to here. I'm not excited about the difference in Home School requirements between Georgia and Tennessee, either. Whatever the Lord decides! I gave this verse a couple of days ago and it always irks me when people quote only the 'easy' part and overlook the tough part.... so here it is again:

Tomorrow is Home School Band. It'll be so much easier to get Nick there now that I won't have as many newborns. I do have to get a car seat in the car tonight, tho!
Two of my families didn't get around to paying me the end of the week. One, who isn't coming back, came by late this afternoon. She only paid me for half a week since we decided Wednesday middle of the day that he needed one on one care, which I cannot give. The other had a death in the family and worked different days after that. She's only forgotten me once in 2 years. She's to call me tonight about this coming week so I'm sure she'll bring the money tomorrow. Thankfully, we got our IRS and State refunds so I didn't need the money!
Guess what! I've had two old friends from Connecticut see my postings here and contact me. One was a girl friend of our daughters and the other is a friend whose daughter dated our Jon for just about forever. Jon still is in love with her daughter, but they went separate ways and the daughter is married now. Jon compares every girl to Sarah. It was so nice to 'reconnect'.
Well I think I'll warm up some left overs for supper and cuddle on the sofa! Our wind chill is low 20°'s and homes here are built for such weather. Praise the Lord for our gas furnace and the tax money that paid that huge bill!
God bless and don't forget those you love this coming week. Even a kind word or a Happy Valentine's Day might brighten the day of a lonely widow or single person who is waiting for the Lord to send their chosen spouse.

I hope you've all had a lovely day, surrounded by those you love!
We had a nice day... tho the two infants I keep both didn't feel well and were quite fussy. One had an upset tummy and one is teething and wouldn't eat.
Ty, the four year old I keep, brought me a Bob the Builder Valentine and must have asked me 40 times... 'Are you SURE you love it?' I had to promise to sleep with it under my pillow. He's so cute.
Jim was in and out today. Our weather was beautiful and is getting warmer and warmer! The boys played outside in just their shirts for quite a while.
Shrimp is something we save for 'special' days, and we hadn't had any in quite a while. A local store had a special, so we stuffed ourselves tonight, and I have enough left to make another dish tomorrow night. I'm thinking a Shrimp Fradiavlo. We all love spicy foods.
I got two beautiful cardigans for Valentine's from Jim. One is a bright pink and one is a muted yellow that I'd guess is sort of a banana color. Both colors will look really pretty with my coloring and hair color. It's hard to find things for short and smaller gals, but Jim managed quite well.
Hubby's job interview is tomorrow night at 5:30 at the new parts plant. Oh we're praying he gets this job! It's with a nationally known company and he'd be the head of the whole place. He did the exact same job for years, many years ago. It's about 27 miles from here away from Atlanta, so traffic would be easier, and their open hours are 8-5 Monday - Friday. His salary would be much higher than the draw vs commission he has now! All good things. We'd lose the car we have through the job he has now but it would only affect home school music. I'm sure I can find a way around that or the Lord will provide. We don't want to finance another car. We still owe another year on mine at 0% interest.

Well......... the job interview went REALLY well. The man from Ohio is about Jim's age and BAPTIST! They had about a 2 hour conversation and really got along well. He does have 2 more people to interview but said they'd make a decision by the end of February. Oh I hope Jim gets this job!
We have really good insurance right now and I need eye surgery. My next appointment is in November. I'm going to call in the morning to see if I can get an appointment right away and possibly set up surgery for the next Thursday (they only do surgery on Thursday's and 2 hours from here). That would cause a tiny bit of problems. Hubby said he'd take me for the exam and care for the babies. He'd take me back for surgery and then my recheck the day after surgery. The parents would only have to find childcare for the day of surgery. Jim would have to help with them the next day, tho. I'm not allowed to bend over or lift for 24 hours at least. I paid $190. for my eye drops, surgical center, surgery and anesthesia TOTAL for $9,000 worth of work! Sure pray I can get in! I don't want to ever let my eye get as bad as I had to before. We don't know about the insurance with this other company.
Also, Jim has gotten calls from 3 other companies this week. After all these years........
The babies were really good today. Ty and Nick also played outside much of the day. What gorgeous weather! I wish I could spend time outside!
I got some major cleaning done in ONE room today. I'm thinking if I work on one room a day, I'll be finished in time to start all over again.
AWANA was good tonight. One of our families who come on the bus are being baptized Sunday. I've had the the kids since they were tiny and now they're not so little anymore. I made a 'eye of the needle' wall and a camel. The kids sure caught on. I'm always amazed when the teachers tell me they 'didn't know that'! That's why it's SO important to get kids in church as little ones and keep them there!
Well, I've added a verse that spoke to me tonight about trusting in the Lord to take care of us...... and hope you enjoy it too.

HI Everyone, Wow, what a day!
I got a miracle appointment with the eye surgeon because of a cancellation just before I called, so called all my moms and got the children picked up so I could leave by 1:00. It's pretty much a two hour drive. Doctor was able to squeeze me in for surgery this coming Thursday. He had only one opening so another miracle, in case Jim changes jobs and loses insurance for a while. The BIG thing is, they found I have narrow angle glaucoma, which is found in smaller eyes.... and not the type caused by diseases. It can begin slowly or come on quickly. It can blind you if not found in time! Guess what? Removing my real eye lens and replacing it with a much smaller and thinner plastic eye lens will CURE the glaucoma by giving me room. I also had NO pressure built up in that eye, so this was found before any damage was done. The surgical scheduler got the antibiotic, pre-surgery medicine I was to go and buy from doctor's samples, saving me $70. after insurance cost.
Now who but God could have arranged this?
Miracle upon Miracle upon Miracle....
So, surgery is next Thursday. I have to be at the surgical center at 6:30. The actual surgery lasts about 11 -15 mins. They do knock you out and then bring you to, so I'll be heading home by 7:45 or so. Again, a 2 hour trip each way. The next day, Friday, I have to return for a 'recheck'. That only takes a couple of minutes. Doctor views the lens to make sure it remained in place, gives me two MORE types of drops (included in his price) that I have to use for 5 weeks. I hate the eye drop routine more than it all! I'm not good at medicines since I've never had to take any! I have to print out a schedule and mark off each 'dose'.
One of my moms is going to switch her off days so Ty won't be a problem. One mom has a grandfather who just had cataract surgery so she's calling her mom to see if she can watch the baby for at least my surgery day. The other mom hasn't called back but I talked to dad and they do have family in town. Everyone is SO nice!
Do say a prayer for me. I don't expect to have the anxiety I had before the first cataract surgery. I'd never had anesthesia, giving birth naturally, and was quite worried about it. This should be easy for me. Pray, tho, for all to go well and a full healing, please.
What gorgeous weather! It's to stay this way til the weekend and then only a few days of rain before warming right back up.
I've got the urge to paint our small t.v. room. It was actually meant to be the small bedroom in the house but we took it for our t.v. and computer. It's the builder beige. Only room never repainted. It's PACKED with a sleep sofa, t.v. and 6 speakers (don't ask), the computer, two bookshelves of videos and PS2 games, board games and puzzles. It also has two large windows and a closet door. The carpet has been ruined by the daycare children and we're looking for a replacement piece in a more red clay/ vomit friendly color ( wink wink ). I'm leaning toward a muted pumpkin color paint. We'll see.... maybe I can go out this weekend and look at paint swatches.
I'm almost ashamed to admit how much easier and more enjoyable our days are now that the sick infant isn't coming. His constant and pitiful crying must have been wearing on the children. Ty had become weepy and moody and is back to himself. Hubby would ask, 'How can you listen to that all day?' when he stopped by. He also needed so much care. Mixing medicines, breathing treatments, percussion treatments (pounding his back, chest and underarms in 10 locations for up to 20 mins. sometimes bringing up blood). There's more, but if you don't understand the disease.... you don't want to know. Truthfully, the child needs nursing care.
So, tomorrow is Friday and I only have the two infant girls. They're both so cute. One is funny and cute. One is beautiful and sweet. Both are a joy. They both love my guys. They like Nick because he talks so much and with his hands... they think he's talking to them. They also like our dog who loves to give them kisses. They try to grab kitties hair but she's too fast for them, so far!
Again, I just have to praise the Lord for my 'miracles' and give Him all the honor and glory!

Hi Everyone and happy weekend!
Wow am I sleepy this afternoon! I'm really looking forward to the weekend. I slept well last night. I didn't seem to dream or worry about my eye surgery. I did get up extra early tho, because a precious mom from church wanted to go on a field trip with her five year old son's class, and they have a 2 1/2 year old son with mild CP. He really has to be watched and chased because he's all boy, and quite a climber. He was here from about 8:30 until 1:30. She pays me very well! I'm going to use that money toward redoing this room.
Jim brought home supper for Nick and me. He'd been taken out for a late lunch by a guy retiring from work and the man, at the end of the meal, ordered meals for us! Wasn't that nice? No cooking for me!
I'm working tomorrow night at church, and am so afraid I'm going to forget about it. I'm always right on top of things, but for some reason this keeps slipping my mind. I think I'd better make myself a note or get out some things I plan on taking along with me. My friend Donna and I are keeping 19 children for the 30 Something Sunday School Class while the parents have a social. They're buying pizza for the kids, and I have the new Veggie Tale movie, Sheerluck Holmes, to share. I have coloring sheets to copy, and some magazines to send home that go along with the movie. We're taking some games for the older kids too. Donna got the DVD player and t.v., and we've chosen which room to use. We have a small kitchen right off the room I had for S/S last year and each room has it's own bathroom and access to the playground. We have to be there by 5:30. It's 6:30 and still light out, here. If the weather were to hold....
I mentioned earlier that I knew we'd have one bad cold snap the end of Feb. or beginning of March. We always do. It's still almost 60° but looks like rain is moving in with chilly weather again.
Hubby hasn't heard anything about the job interview. The man had more people to interview but we sure do pray he gets that job! Oh what a blessing that would be. Of course, timing is everything and my surgery is Thursday so we need to still 'be employed' where he is right now to save a bazillion dollars!
Speaking of next week, so far it appears I'll still have the two infants on Friday after my recheck. I'll have to be extra careful since I'm not supposed to lean over or lift for a while. I don't remember how many hours or days but it seems it was only 24 hours, tho I was more cautious. I can always put a chair by my bed and sit to change diapers but lifting them in and out of high chairs, pack 'n plays, etc. is another matter. Jim may have to end up staying home with me or Jon could get up and help. Ty's grandmother is coming to visit so he'll be set for Thurs. He never comes on Friday anyhow.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and enjoys time resting and with your family. Do plan on Sunday School and church this week. I promise, God will bless you, if you go with an open heart!

Just a quick hello tonight.
I kept children at church for a class Christmas / Valentine's party. We were supposed to have 40 children so the church enlisted 6 women. There were only 15 children. Five went in the toddler area with four women and 10 stayed in with my friend Donna and myself. We had to have her remove the 4 oldest boys after about an hour. The oldest was 11 and they were just way too rough for the others. I had five girls and one boy and they all wanted my attention at once but they were pretty good. I either have them in Sunday School or AWANA so they know me well. We didn't get paid.... and one lady was down to her last $3.00 for a large family. She's going to approach someone in the morning but I think the class is going to try to figure out something for us. They'd charged each family a specific amount, counting on 40 children, and what they ended up collecting would pay us only $17.00 per woman for 3 1/2 hours.
We found our paint for the t.v. room and the bottom half of the guest bath today. The bath has stormy blue paint up top and the border around the center is of antique lighthouses and storm clouds. I chose a greenish gray for the bottom. The name of the paint is squirrel! I got a matching throw rug. The one I had was cream and a small one. We needed a much larger one. For the t.v. room, I chose a paint called 'roasted pumpkin'. It's lovely! I can't wait to see it on the walls. First I have to scrub our baseboards and doors. We got some white to redo the woodwork. I've promised to do that cleaning and then we can paint the room two walls at once so we don't have to remove all the furniture until we're ready to recarpet. Hubby laughed at my description of choosing a carpet that was red clay and daycare vomit friendly. Can you imagine the color? LOL Well the roasted pumpkin will seem cool in the summer and yet warm in the winter. I do love colors!
Yikes is it cold here! I walked the dog as soon as I got in from church. Our back deck is iced. Puppy was not a happy camper. He had to stay here with Jim and Nick and they are not patient or good with animals. Poor puppy was locked in the bathroom by 7:30! He was 'out of control'. So what is he doing now? Sleeping on the sofa quietly, like a good dog.
I'm very glad to say I'm not at all concerned about my eye surgery. I am wondering what I can do about sinus congestion since all the meds that help me are on the do not use list. Maybe once the surgery is done, I can use Sudaphed again. We'll see. If nothing else, I'll figure out something natural.
Well, it has been a crazy night and since I don't enjoy mouthy pre teen boys, I'm going to do my best to forget about tonight and not do this again unless we're destitiute!

Boy is it COLD here!
Actually, we have 92% humidity, strong winds and the true temp is low 30°'s. That's too cold for man or beast 'round here! Puppy doesn't like having to take such quick walks and I don't like it either. I'm looking forward to time to put puppy down for the night, my warm jammies and cuddling with hubby.
We're facing a rainy week. Tonight is to start off with sleet, rain or even some snow. The schools aren't closed here tomorrow. I'll have all my kids through Wednesday, off Thursday for surgery and then two are coming late Friday morning after I go for my recheck in Rome (2 hours away, each way). Rainy weeks are hard because the dog can't get enough exercise and then is wild. He's too big to be wild! Hubby already doesn't like him. EEK!
We had Rev. R.C. Watson preach today. Next Sunday we'll be hearing and voting on Dr. Preston Nix as Interim Pastor. I seem to remember hearing him preach before but we've had so many... different men.
I had a good number in Sunday School today for such a cold day. I do have a problem tho. Our son's 5th Grade Sunday School class is out of control. A young couple teach it but the husband is uninvolved in the class. The kids have taken over and mine is right in the fray. I'm not going to allow that, so either he'll have to join me in MY 4 year old class or I'll give up teaching and go sit in his class. There's a good number of problem kids in that class and between games and snacks, too much 'fun time' and not enough class time. It's also WAY too big a class for one 29 year old woman. If I get involved teaching in there, there's going to be some upset parents, because I'll send for them to come out of their classes to sit with their 11 year old child. Our son was punished today and had to take his allowance and buy an 'apology' card and postage after spending an hour in his room in prayer and thinking about his behavior and how it might affect the salvation chances of others.
Next week we're going to begin attending the 8:30 service. That service has hymns and I really prefer those over the new choruses, PLUS I want Nick to learn the old hymns. We already have learned about some of the hymn writers off www.cyberhymnal.org Amazing! So, he won't like that because his friends all attend second service, as do most of MY friends, but I think this is more important.
I didn't get my nap in today and boy did I need it! I woke at 4:45 a.m. with a hot flash and thought the heater was way too high. Once I got up and checked it, I'd awakened the dog who wanted to go for a walk. When I came back in, I realized I'd awakened Nick. He got back to sleep tho, as did I. We were up at 7:30 .....
Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead. I'd appreciate prayers for my eye surgery this coming Thursday and my childcare Friday since I'm not supposed to bend or lift for a while....

And a lovely, rainy evening to you all!
Will the rain never stop? Seems like our spring rains have arrived early and just won't cease! That sure makes a mess with such a large dog!
I got an email today from a woman with two dogs. They have one dog house and the older dog won't allow the puppy into the dog house. The last few days have been wet and 20's with our wind chill. I had a lovely igloo dog house my dog refuses to enter so she picked it up after work today. It had been given to me... for such a time as this.
Jon misunderstood and thought my surgery was today so he got up early and spent a lot of family time with Nick and the dog. Nick enjoyed that. Jon took tonight off and is already sleeping. His long hours catch up with him some time. He'll probably wake at 10:00 and be bored tho!
So, what a nice surprise! Ty's grandmother had planned to head this way for a short visit and can be here for my surgery. Ty's mother has a long weekend so I won't have him from Thursday through Monday, but will keep him Tues. - Friday next week. I'll still get full pay even with taking off for surgery.
Abigail's grandmother has recently had cataract surgery and insisted that I won't be able to care for anyone on Friday so mom has found an aunt to watch Abigail on Thursday and Friday, yet paid me in full, in advance.
Sadie's mother has found someone for Thursday and hasn't mentioned Friday other than coming late, after my recheck. They pay me a month in advance already.
Looks like I'll have plenty of time to recoup from the surgery before having a houseful again. Cataract surgery isn't bad but 3 kinds of eye drops so many times a day every so many minutes, not bumping or rubbing your eye for 2 months, not bending or lifting, etc.... can be a bit to get used to at first. PLUS, I've only had anesthesia once and that was for my previous cataract surgery and I slept most of the day afterwards!
All in all........ my plans were not God's plans! God's plans are much kinder and more than I had ever considered.
I didn't go to visitation tonight but wrote post cards to many church members. I have a bit of ill feelings toward one of our church staff after a remark he made today and didn't want to be a hypocrit, show up tonight and pretend to be all happy and loving when I felt like washing his mouth out with soap! It had to do with the Sunday School concern. Argh! I'm not angry. I don't GET angry.... but I am insulted for my son and not satisfied with being brushed off when I have a serious concern. It's okay tho, the Sunday School Directors are both Deacons and already knew of this need for more teachers, bigger room and control / manly presence. God is already working on this problem!
So, I don't know yet what we'll do Sunday. Nick wants to attend his previous class if possible. He learned so much from Mr. Tim and wife. I know they'd be fine with it but I'm a stickler for rules so can't start breaking them for myself and not for others.
Well, I have GOT to fold clothes! I'd like to head to bed early tonight so need to get that done and then walk this lunatic dog! Being stuck inside so much because of the weather is not working out well for puppy or any of us.

We've had a bit of sunshine this nice warm afternoon but it won't last long! Rain and down to 20 at night by Sunday... or so they say.
How is everyone this lovely day? I'm so sleepy! I just can't seem to catch up my sleep no matter how early I go to bed. I seem to be sleeping well, too. Oh well, I'll sleep a lot on Thursday after the anesthesia so that'll be deep sleep!
Tomorrow I begin my eye drops pre-surgery and then Thursday, have to use them every 15 mins. The nurse from the surgical center called today and said for me to take any anxiety meds I felt I needed before surgery but I'm afraid to 'mix' medicines so will not .... It was so easy last time that I know I shouldn't be concerned. I think those of us blessed with perfect health make terrible patients because we just have never had to 'deal with' sickness in ourselves. Shucks... I had all my children naturally, too.
Nick's school work seems to be so much review about now. It makes for a quick day. We're redoing all his 'times tables' after a period of long division. His science tends to be repetitive each year and his history might be his favorite right now. I need to begin saving for his 6th grade books from BJUP. We really like them AND fifty cents of every dollar of books and materials goes into a college scholarship at BJU for Nick.
Well, I thought I'd blog early tonight because I'm going to watch NCIS and head to bed! Goodness, If puppy would only agree to going to bed earlier, I'd be in bed by 8:00!

Well Hi Y'all!
Tomorrow morning will be here extra early for us because we have to leave by 4:30 a.m. for Rome, Ga. for my surgery for a cataract and narrow-angle glaucoma. I'm first on the list and have to check in at 6:30 so I expect to be finished and heading home by 7:30 - 7:45. Last surgery, the twilight sleep made me drowsy all day so I didn't do much. I have to return Friday at 7:30 for a re check, so will be leaving home by 5:30 that day.... and I'm the one who likes to sleep late!
Nick didn't act like he felt well last night and then today complained of a headache, sour stomach and a sore throat. He had a temp of 101° and his throat looked like strep to me. The pediatrician was swamped so they sent us to the ER. Well.... Jim took Nick because I had the three little ones and it took over 4 hours from the time they left til they got home. No strep, but doctor says there's a nasty virus making people feel pretty bad. They'd given Nick some Motrin when he arrived so he felt pretty good by time the doctor got around to seeing him. I checked his temp at 8:30 and it was normal. That would have been over 5 hours since they'd given him the Motrin so I'm guessing he'll not feel too bad with this. Jon (29) works tonight but is going to get up and take care of Nick and Scooter til we get home. He's offered to do it both days so Nick doesn't have to ride four hours!
Nick's on the phone with a good buddy from church. I kept him home from AWANA because of the virus and he talks with these kids each night before bed. Josh is coming home with us after church this Sunday, as long as Nick is fine. I'm sure I'll be okay. They are SO good that you don't even know they're in the house.
Poor hubby is still out working! He had one family to see and then had to deliver some paperwork to his office for some new home closing tomorrow. They'll need it before he could get back with me and then drive the hour to the office.
It's rained again, almost all day, very hard at times. We're supposed to have a couple of semi dry days before it gets really cold a couple of nights. I shouldn't complain. March is always the beginning of our true spring. We already have buds on many trees. My Jasmine is beginning to bloom! There is new growth on my butterfly bush. I've seen many birds that we don't see during cold weather and the squirrels are everywhere! They're playing like they do when about to mate. Certainly spring isn't far away!
Well, ten minutes til my last eye drops for the night and then I have to use them every 15 minutes beginning at 5:00 a.m. I dread the eye drops so much. I'll have 3 types to use for a total of 5 weeks. Some phase out after one week, others slowly phase to 1 drop a day for a week. I'm terrible with medicines since I've never needed them. I'll have to print out a five week calendar and mark off each dose! Can you imagine me complaining about this when I should be praising God that I have had such a healthy life!

Just a quick update and hello tonight.
I had my eye surgery early this morning. The wait time, once I was prepped, took longer than it should because the woman they brought back with me had some heart things going on and they took her by ambulance to the hospital. I wasn't as apprehensive so didn't receive the extra dose of anxiety meds. I was aware of every bit of the procedure and had a nice conversation with doctor during the surgery. He was picking on some songs from the 50's and 60's. Meanwhile, I'm doing fine. I do have a headache but just took Tylenol. You can't take aspirin right after eye surgery. I'm sure my headache is from worrying about Nick.
Speaking of Nick, he's doing fine. He has sniffles and a scratchy throat. His head hurts a little and his temp creeps up to about 101° every once in a while. He's a TERRIBLE patient, like his mom, and wants to be well NOW. Jon was up when Nick woke at 3:00 a.m. but then went back to bed when we left. Nick was 'alone' in his eyes, until he fell back asleep around 5:30. Jon got back up and cared for the dog.
I just gave Nick some Motrin and he took a nice shower. He wants to sleep on the sofa in the t.v. room so whatever suits him. Used to be, when he felt ill, one of us would sleep in here with him like a sleep over but I can't take a chance with my eye being bumped and REALLY need sleep! Nick has been awake since about 8:00 so is dead tired. He's also concerned that his best friend cannot come home with him on Sunday if he's not all well. I keep assuring him that viruses tend to go away quite quickly. His thought is.... it's only been 26 hours....
Our granddaughter is ill. Erin called on her way home from work. Eden had been left with her grandfather who called Erin at work to say Eden was lethargic, vomiting and coughing very badly. He won't take her temp even with the ear type. So...... and her hubby had gone to the radio station and turned off his phone. Eden is 5 and has a sister almost 3 years old.
Well, I think I'll get ready to walk puppy for the night and patch up my eye. It's quite weird to see such a red eye with a giant pupil. Nick has been almost teary eyed today and kept worrying about me hurting myself. I think, his not feeling well, and me needing to be careful was overwhelming to someone who just didn't feel good. Like I said, he's a terrible patient. The kid may get one cold a year!

PRAISE GOD! I'M HEALED! Dctor outright said... 'You no longer HAVE narrow-angle glaucoma' after this surgery and said I can take any Sudaphed, etc. I felt I needed. This is a 'not to worry about' ever situation! Praise God Again!

I feel as if I've lost a close friend tonight. With surgery yesterday, I didn't hear the news of Anthony Burger's death. Surely heaven is filled with wonderful music today. My favorite song he plays is 'I've Just Seen Jesus' off the Gaither's Israel Homecoming DVD. You've never cried til you've cried tears of faith.

Other than this sad news, we've had a good day. My follow up appointment with the eye surgeon brought excellent news. From 20/800 to 20/20. Dr Harbin said I may only need Dollar Store reading glasses, at age 55. Not bad! Praise God! Our trip back and forth was especially quick.
Nick's fever is coming down but he still has a small temp of around 100°, a scratchy throat and is quite upset that his friend may not be able to come over this Sunday. I keep telling him he has plenty of time to get well before then.... He sure enjoys having friends over after church.

Happy Monday Everyone. We had a pretty nice day. I accomplished quite a bit.
Tonight I had to drive into the outskirts of Atlanta, following Jim in my car. He drove us home. It occurred to me that as long as I kept my eyes on his car, I felt no fear. I know he only wants the best for me and would never lead me astray. I know he would guide me where I needed to go. All I had to do was not turn aside but keep my eyes on him. There's a good AWANA story in that and I'm already working on it for Wednesday night. If we keep our eyes on Jesus, we have nothing to fear.
I'll have all my daycare children tomorrow. I've gotten ahead on some chores because I need to get some woodwork and baseboards washed and ready for Jim to paint later this week. There's just so much furniture in this room but we've got some ideas. We're going to hang the big speakers (surround sound) to free up some floor space. The wood color on the speakers and center channel will match the roasted pumpkin color really well.
I need a dresser for Nick's room. He's still using the 'baby' dresser we got many years ago. It's out of sight, in his closet, but we could really make better use of the limited space in his room if we had a full sized dresser and put his t.v., PS2, PS1, etc. on top of that instead of on the dust collecting stand. I've posted the need on www.freecycle.org but no replies so far. I can't give away his things until I have a replacement.
Jim's going to have off Wednesday with an appointment on Thursday and then probably off again until Monday. Still waiting to share some news.
Boy our weather is unbelieveable! It's going to be mid 70's° this week. Forsythia's are in full bloom. Bradford Pear trees are white with blossoms. Daffodils and tulips are already blooming and buds are on most trees. I think my Dogwoods will be full of leaves any day! I see the new growth on my largest Butterfly Bush. I'd love to get a Rose of Sharon but usually forget by time they make it to the stores. Since they bloom late in the summer, they tend to slip my mind.
I was thinking of Gardenia's today. Am I the only person who finds their scent lovely? I also love Lilacs, Wisteria and the dreaded Honeysuckle. I have it growing along my fence! I paid for it. People dig it up and burn it but the scent is heavenly.
