When I was in college, I wrote a poem about a guy I had a crush on (he's married now). I can't remember all of it..but I remember one verse..

Angel eyes and a cherub smile
Are just a little part
Of this Gabriel like creature.
Who so tenderly captured my heart.

Well, okay, but remember, O asked for it.

I dedicate this one to the founder of this thread.

Resistance is futile, the robot thing said,
Pointing taser at SciFi shocked frozen, filled with dread.
She struggled and struggled with what to say or to do,
And couldn't tell if it was Thing 1 or Thing 2.

You will be assimilated, in monotone fashion, it spoke again,
And all kinds of terror just flashed through her brain.
She'd left her transponder back there in the lander,
Declaring so carefree, I'm just going to gander.

Goodbye earthl... oof! was the last thing she heard,
as her legs gave out from under her because she was passing out thinking she was dead.
What no one did see was her speedy friend O,
who took out the freak thing with his taser and caught her before her head hit the ground.

She awoke on the lander to the hum of the electric battery motors,
as O drove back to the trampoline, where they'd jump to get back on the mother ship and safety.

The end

sorry, I don't watch much sci-fi.

Okay, so I had to share this one with you guys! I wrote it about a year ago in the back of one of

my notebooks, it was to Singing Boy, but I never planned on anyone reading it...have fun

laughing at it, that's what I did when I was typing it out!

You make my heart flutter, I can feel my face blush.

When ever you come near me, my head gets such a rush.

I try to talk to you and all I can do is sigh.

Why can I only flirt when I don't try?

You make me want to melt like a Popsicle on a hot sidewalk.

I think I'm in heaven every time that I hear you talk.

When you lift your voice in song, I think I hear an angel singing.

And in the back of my mind I can hear the wedding bells ringing.

One day maybe you will see me as more than your friend.

Someday, you will promise to love me until the end.

As for today though, I will be content to just walk towards God beside you.

Knowing one day, when the time is right you will grab my hand and won't let go until our years are through.

So, my one and only Singing Boy, today I make the choice to wait for you.

Will you promise to wait for me too?

I enjoy writing poetry, but it's not something that I can just sit down and do, it only seems to come naturally for me when I'm either really down about something (someone) or really happy about something (someone). I wrote this a little over 5 years ago, I had just moved out to CO and although I had my sister and her family out there, lived with them even, I was struggling with some things and this is what came out of that struggle:

I sometimes get discouraged
As the loneliness sets in
But I look to Him for strength
For I know I am never alone.

His will I seek to do
As I follow Him through and through
I have given Him my heart
That He may show me where to start.
