I hate storms...especially snow storms! I use a wheelchair, so once it snows, I lose my independence till it melts.

Hi Popsi, I'm Deb's hubby, John, which is why I'm groom52, cuz I was 52 and Deb was 48 when we got married.

Deb's also not fond of thunderstorms. She comes from northern California (near San Francisco) where they almost never get thundertorms. Of course there is good reason for not liking thunderstorms because it means having to get off the ccomputer.

Right now we have some rain but no wind. More of that will probably come in tonight.

Hi Mike, glad to drop by.

As you've heard, Deb and I have been venturing out and about quite a bit lately, some of it related to celebrating our anniversary and my birthday. When I have been on the computer I've been trying to catch up on things.

We enjoyed using the subway system more. We ended up using the orange line between Downtown Crossing and North Station the other day. Sometime we'll make a stop at Haymarket. The last time I visited there was maybe 7 or 8 years ago and it was still undergoing reconstruction.

It is finally finished over there! It was a real pain when they were reconstructing the area, especially when I was making hand deliveries over there! Its finally done though, thank you Jesus! I also read recently that you finally saw the water falls as well!

Ok the shoe story, back when Abiyah was dating, she was rubbing her shoe on the leg of the guy that she would eventually marry. But she was dating someone else at the time and thought that she was rubbing his leg instead. She got embarrassed when she found out and at the end of the night made a comment like "I hope you enjoyed me rubbing your leg with my shoe!" He was completely embarrassed, but off-setted the embarrassment that she had instead.

Oh, wow! I can't believe you remember that! Hee-hee!

But I probably had better retell it, just to get it straight!

I just told it, then dropped my butter knife and wiped it all out! Bummer.

Okay. So he asked me out. And I responded with what I used to tell men then: I will go out with you as friends but nothing more, don't think you're going to drive my car, don't tell me what to do or try to plan my future, and, especially, DON'T TOUCH ME! I was hard on men! But he wanted to go anyway.

We had gone together when I was ages 14 - 16, but we had broken up and married others. I had been widowed 9 years earlier, and he had been recently widowed. The last thing I wanted was to marry anyone then, so going out with him made me very, horribly nervous.

So I sat there all through dinner rubbing my shoe up and down on the center-pedestal of the table. Then, as we waited for dessert, the pedestal MOVED! I looked under the table cloth and found not a center-pedestal but four legs at the corners of the table -- what I have been rubbing all night was HIS LEG!! I was so MAD!

I can't remember what I said to him, but he burst out laughing. I just sat there and gave him my iciest stare -- for about 5 seconds, then I burst into laughter at the absurdity of the whole thing! Especially after my speech which ended with "and don't touch me!"

It broke the ice, though, and I relaxed, then we had a good time. I actually let him kiss me after dinner! Then I married him a year later.

Awhhh tooo cute!! If I understand right...that means you have been widowed twice before this man. Wow, that must have been difficult...Do you mind me asking...and if you do...tell me. How did your previous husbands die?

I love the story by the way. And you are so much like me. I am that way with guys. I wasn't allowed to date til I was 18 though and I am glad of that...

Hi Abiyah, thanks for stopping in and clearing up the story for us all! I remember reading it years ago, so I was a little rusty as you can tell.

Waaallll, I don't want to take up Humble's thread with my stuff, so I will just say no, widowed only once at age 28 when my 29.5-year-old husband was killed in a plane accident. I stayed single until I married my present husband 10 years-plus-a-few days later.

Two great husbands, two great sets of parents-in-law. One lucky duck.

Hey, you're welcome, Humble! I am honored that you remembered at ALL!

Oh -- I guess I wasn't quite 28. My birthday was a month and a half later.

Just remember -- that was over 30 years ago, and I've been remarried over 20 years now.

Question for you two,

Are there ever just certain people that you attach yourselves to and you really aren't too for sure why?
