Thanks again, LoyalGypsy, for your response. I don't mean getting slaughtered and believing that that will some day happen to Christians - I don't mean it in a masochistic way - but it is what the Lord teaches will some day happen, it seems from the context, just prior to His return.

Don't take it personally, JnJs_mom. I just have the opinion that we are coming up on the trib - maybe even in my lifetime. But in Matthew Jesus says something to the effect that when you see these things starting to happen 'look up because your salvation draws near'. Not that I think we are into Matthew 24 yet, but maybe soon. Global economic collapse is something that happens as recorded in Rev. ch. 6 so when something remotely close to that starts showing up on planet earth it catches my attention and I think other believers as well. To tie this into 'I wonder if the bail out will work' - taking a view on it from what I understand about God and the word - not economics - it doesn't look too good I'd say.
